We Love This Game
I have 2 daughters now ages 7 and nearly 4. My youngest got this for Christmas when she was a younger 3. Both of them love playing it and I enjoy playing it with them (a huge plus - this is nothing like a boring round of Candy Land), and we still play it even though we've had it awhile. The version she got had a pink monkey which is awesome but I cannot find anywhere, only the traditional brown monkey. She loves this sock monkey so much she sleeps with him, plays with him... so much so I've had to sew him up where his seem split. In fact she's so happy with sock monkey that we are doing a sock monkey themed birthday party for her. AGE: At 3 or 4 I don't think they are good enough at hiding something or finding it. So we play with teams. I take her with me when our team hides it, and it's great fun watching her try to stifle the need to spill the secret as others ask their questions about what room the monkey is in. Her fits of giggles as the timer runs out on the person looking for her hidden monkey is priceless, and sometimes I can't restrain her from going with the seekers even though she isn't seeking that turn. When she's the seeker we have to hide under a blanket together so she doesn't run and peek. These are not detractors of the product - I think it makes it even more fun. My 7 year old loves it possibly more than the younger one. I'm 34 and I enjoy playing with them, as did my mom who is 58 (seriously you should have seen the happiness in my mom's eyes when she trooped off to hide it for her granddaughters). ** I've bought several of these games since recieving this gift to give as birthday presents. There is another seller through Amazon with a cheaper version of this game - it's the same Cardinal Sock Jungle manufacturer/producer, but the box isn't as large - you can sort of tell by the picture. There is no board (which I suppose you don't really need) but the most disappointing thing about that version is that the monkey that came with it really isn't a true "sock monkey". It's a furry stuffed animal - which on closer inspection on my desktop computer with a wide screen you can sort of tell by the picture. So if you want a more traditional sock monkey go with this version here.

Not durable
My grandson loved the little monkey. It is not durable at all. The stuffing was coming out of the arm before he ever got to play with it. The cardboard game board ripped immediately the first time he tried to open it. He is 4 years old. Not worth the money. Disappointing.

Great game, but you don't always receive the one pictured
We ordered this game as a birthday gift for a little boy, based on the Amazon product pictured. I was pretty surprised to open the package and find an all-pink monkey inside. My daughter took one look and declared that her friend wouldn't like it (to a 4-year-old, color can be everything), and since we didn't have any time to exchange the gift, we decided to keep it for her to play with. Well, she loves it and we have all been having fun hiding and looking for the sock monkey. It's the perfect game for a rainy day, when the kids still want to run around a little bit, and unlike some other toddler games, it doesn't make the adults want to scream with boredom. I just wish a store near us sold this game, so we could give it as a gift without worrying about what color monkey we would get.

A game I can enjoy too!
We've had this game since February 2012. From day 1, my son loved it! And actually, I did too! The premise of the game is simple. Hide the monkey. Draw cards to get clues about where the monkey is hidden. Eventually draw a GO FIND IT card. Look at your clues (if you need to) to figure out where you should look, start the timer, and GO FIND IT! Rinse and repeat. :-) And the older they get, the harder you can make the hiding spots! So it never gets old. Sometimes we include a little bit of Warmer... warmer... colder... The board, timer, and cards are pretty sturdy. The box... well along with all our other game boxes, it's torn half-way apart. The monkey lost his tail, but is otherwise in tact. Final thoughts: The thing I like about this game the most is that it helps kids to connect the dots in their mind, putting clues together to draw a conclusion. There is no complicated list of rules to remember, turns to take, or pieces to move. AND, NO SMALL PARTS TO LOSE!!!!!!!!! (Booooo Hi-Ho Cherry-O, X-D ) So Parents with kids 3-10+, SO WORTH IT!!

Love this game and your child will too!
I love this game! I think it is so much fun. It puts a spin on hide and seek and the sock monkey is adorable. I will say however that when my package arrived the box was banged up some and the sock money tore at the seam already. It can be fixed but this was only after a few times of us using it so that was a disappointment but the game itself is a blast. Perfect for ages 3-5 and I know plenty of older kids who like it too.

Our new favorite game
We had a blast playing this game! It's so unlike your typical board games - it will get you up and moving! One person hides the monkey, and then with clue cards the players figure out where the monkey is by asking 'is it in a room with a desk?' 'is it in a room with a bed?'. The box says it is a preschool game, but my 6-year old had just as much fun with it. I did too! My kids played with the monkey when we were done. It's smaller than a typical sock monkey, and not quite as durable - I don't think it was meant to be treated like a stuffie. I sewed one of the seams back together and Monkey is back in action. This is our new game night favorite - love it!!

Where is sock monkey?
My four-year-old son loves sock monkeys. We bought him this game for his birthday, and he LOVES it. He doesn't quite get the concept of hiding the sock monkey--he mostly just hides him where someone else hid him last or drops him in the middle of the floor, but he has so much fun playing, and so do the adults in the household! Great game that's more active than something like CandyLand.

Was not happy when my son opened it up on his birthday ...
Was under the impression that I spent this kind of money on a new game not a used game. Was not happy when my son opened it up on his birthday to find out it was a used game.
