Does this look cakey?

No, it is very smooth. I use a makeup sponge to apply. A little goes s long way.

Does the white paint look matte?

Yes, it does. The texture of the white face paint is cream to powder foundation, and there has a matte look to it. Make sure to moisturize properly beforehand.

Do I need to set it with setting powder?

If you need it to last longer, I’d suggest to set it with some setting powder.

So I am planning to go to a convention for a joker cosplay, and I have olive skin, does the white foundation work on my skin tone?

Yes, I would think so! I think it will work well for all skin tones depending on how many amount you use it.You can layer multiple coats to get a desired joker white makeup effect. Never hurts to give it a shot.
