Kicked them up with homemade lead shot bags. - Out of the box the quality was great. After researching, I chose this one. I do NOT plan to run or treadmill or do vigorous exercises with them. I am in an aggressive PT program to restore my left knee which was shattered in an accident. So my use was to do leg or quad lifts and as I become stronger, I will need more weight. I removed one of the sandbags and then had two choices. Use a seam ripper or Exacto knife and open the top and dump the sand. OR construct a bag that has lead shot in it. I opted to clone one of the bags and fill it with #7-1/2 lead (shotgun) shot. The sandbags weight around 10.7 Oz. I could easily get 42 (2#-10 Oz) in the same envelope or volume. My DW stressed over finding some RipStop nylon kite material for the new bags or using something like denim. Turns out the solution was even simpler. I used a small sandwich bag that was approximately the same length as the original sandbag and put it in a plastic cup and zeroed the scale. Added 42 Oz of Shot. Laid the bag on its side and spread out the shot a bit so that the overall profile closely matched the original. Trimmed off the excess and and folded over the rest and โScotchedโ it closed. Then I used a heavy duty first aid tape and laminated it to the bag, so essentially, I had a cloth bag as the tape overlaps the edges of the adjacent strips and the end. NOW, the Engineer kicked in. I needed a slick surface to assist in getting the bag to slide into the pouch. Found a slightly larger Freezer bag and cut off the excess. I then sealed the long edge with HD clear packing tape and folded over the end and sealed it. I have primary, secondary and tertiary containment. The new bags slip in easily and should not be a spillage risk. Substituting 2 42 Oz plastic shot filled bag for 2 of the sand kicked up one weight to 7.5#....which was my target. If you remove and substitute ONE lead filled bag, you have increased the 3.5 # to around 5.5 pounds. VERY INEXPENSIVE way to get a quality set of leg or ankle weights and then be able to adjust and increase the weight. VERY pleased with them out of the box and even more so after I constructed the lead shot bags. Review: Comfortable Quick Effective - I was searching for adjustable ankle weights to begin strength training and mostly got these because they came in a color I like. They are very sturdy and quick to put on/take off. You can change the levels of weights in 1.5 lb increments, which is wonderful for someone who wants to build strength. The weights are balanced and very comfortable, and I didn't experience any discomfort from scratchy Velcro (as I had from other past products). I would highly recommend them.

Durable and well though-out. Not enough weight
Heavy duty construction with durable triple-stitched seams. The well distributed weights are easily added/removed to suit your needs. For my purposes the maximum weight limit was insufficient. I ended up adding 4 ounce fishing weights to each side (I added two weights per ankle). I simply sewed two new pockets onto each of the two braces and slipped in a fishing weight. I recommend the product, but would suggest they make provisions for additional weights in future designs.

Comfortable set of ankle weights. Nice quality and weight adjustable.
Had gotten these to help with my PT after my knee injury and they've been holding up and performing well. The large Velcro strap makes it a cinch to put on and is comfortable while wearing working out. I also like that the Velcro strap is completely covered after wrapping so none of the roughness is exposed or that can damage other fabrics or materials around me when working out. The neoprene like material is also comfortable but don't know how durable it will be in the long run yet as I've tried some others which the material is coarse and likely would cause some abrasions after prolonged use if not wearing full pants. Overall, a good quality product with removable weights for customization.

As advertised!
These look exactly like their pictures (color-wise) and I am very pleased. They do take a minute to get used to, though. I put mine on and my legs felt so weird- like trudging through mud. It took me a second to adjust them to be comfortable on my ankles, but once I got it they were fine. I really got these to add some extra resistance on my walks and I really felt a difference with these on. My legs worked a little harder and got my heart rate up a touch. I'm sure these would be great to add to pilates workouts out, too (trying that soon!). When I was done, I rinsed them off with some water to get rid of sweat and dust. The material is really nice, it's really just adjusting the tightness and shifting the weights around your achilles to make them comfortable. Bonus, the weights can be removed pretty easily!

It is fantastic, I used it the first night when I got it for walking. It is amazing and I love it so much and highly recommended it to my husband to use it in his fitness workout. Here I also highly recommend this to anyone who are interested in this. I can adjusts the weight which is quite nice and safe for beginners. I think it is perfect right especially for beginners. it is made of cotton which is very comfortable and soft against my ankles and fits snugly. It is also very affordable. I examined the stitching, I feel I have nothing to worry about the tears. It is a very nice product, I love it.

Not very comfortable and bulky
They do provide additional weight for a more intense workout but are very bulky which makes them a bit annoying to have on especially when doing combo exercises and having to jump from one to another (for example going from boxing to push-ups). Having to remove them would just slow down the intensity. They are not rough on the skin and the Velcro holds them well. They are also big and adjustable enough to be used on the ankles or wrists .

Comfortable Durable functional
Iโve used several types of ankle weights and these are the best. They stay tight and donโt move during fast movement exercises and the neoprene provides the perfect amount of padding. Despite what others have said, Iโve not had any issues with quickly adding or removing the weights and they even worked perfect when I let my 7 yr old kid play basketball while wearing them. The stitching has held up after a solid month of use as well. Before finding these I bought a different brand from a big retailer that I returned after half of the removable metal weights ripped through and blew out the bottom after only using once during a set of standing squat jumps. The weight punches are a much better design even if it takes an extra 4 seconds to add weight back on.

A great adjustable ankle weight
I bought these for my pre-teen daughter for a dance class and love that the weights are removable to easily adjust the overall weight on her ankle. The straps are adjustable as well to fit tiny little ankles (would work on a wrist as well).

Bulky & difficult to fasten tight for wrists.
I find the product difficult to fasten tight especially on the wrists unless someone else helps u. The fastening method they designed is not practical for using it on your wrists and should be revised. Also the product is too bulky to be used practically for wrist weights. This product is really designed just for ankle weights and it should be advertised as such, youโll be disappointed if your intent is to use it for your wrists. Otherwise itโs price point is great and the quality is surprisingly good for the price point.
