Five stars all the way! After dealing with a normal litter box, this one blows you away! There’s absolutely no smell (bc they have a little fragrance thingie inside the trash bag area), it cleans itself pretty well (you still have to check it at intervals and clean the inside edges where it slides the waste), and the app tells you how much your cat weighs and how often they use it. It’s pretty quiet, the size is about what you’d expect, it seems sturdy so far, and it comes mostly assembled out the box. This thing is worth every penny spent! If you’re on the fence, DO IT. You won’t regret having one, and it’s helped tremendously with keeping track of when to change the litter. You deserve an easier way to deal with cat poo. Update: It took us about 1.5-2 months to get our cat to actually use it, as she’s super anxious about everything. We used the One Guy Five Cats video on YT- Transitioning to an Auto Cleaning Litter Box. We had to put the litter boxes right next to each other, adding some of the old litter box poo in the new one. We then had to let the manual litter box get REALLY dirty. We gave her treats inside the new one (on a tray) to show her it was safe, leaving it on Kitten Mode so it wouldn’t do auto cleaning and scare her away. THIS WAS A PROCESS- be patient!

The PETKIT PuraMax 2 has been a great upgrade from a traditional litter box. It’s quiet, easy to set up, and does an excellent job keeping the litter area clean and odor-free. The self-cleaning function works smoothly, and the app makes it easy to monitor usage and maintenance. My cat adjusted to it quickly, and I spend far less time scooping. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable and convenient automatic litter box. Less scooping, less smell, and less mess—it truly makes cat care easier.

Overall, I like the product. Functional as expected. Very slick design and ease of use. A lot of people complain about this product leaking but so far it hasn’t yet. I will update later if it does. My product doesn’t come with odor spray so I end up buying one from other website. After receiving the odor spray kit, it didn’t fit into the side hatch door because it was missing a hook to attach the sprayer. Apparently, if you don’t buy the whole package with the odor spray, the litter box won’t come with a special side hatch that you to hang the odor sprayer. I try to contact customer service to buy a special hatch door separately but no respond until now. I took out 1 star because of bad customer service. Another star because of the incompatible side hatch door. Why don’t you guy provide a side hatch door with an option to attach the odor sprayer if one decide not to buy the whole bundle ? Updates: I contacted customer service and they willing to ship me a free side hatch door that hook the Odor sprayer. I just need to pay $12.99 for shipping. I think it’s pretty nice of them so I add 1 more star for post-customer service. Also, cleaning was super easy. Everything part is removable to clean.

I’ve been using the PETKIT PuraMax 2 Automatic Self-Cleaning Cat Litter Box for a bit now, and honestly, it’s been a huge upgrade. Not having to scoop litter every day is amazing. It cleans itself after each use and keeps everything fresh, which saves a ton of time. The odor control is way better than a regular litter box. Even in a smaller space, you barely notice any smell. The app is also pretty cool too, you can track your cat’s usage and control it right from your phone. It’s super quiet, and my cat got used to it really quickly. Plus, it’s roomy enough if you’ve got more than one cat. Only downside is the price, but in my opinion, it’s 100% worth it for the convenience. Overall: If you’re tired of scooping litter, this thing is absolutely worth it.

Review for PetKit: This might be an amazing litter box for a highly connected internet household; unfortunately that means we were not the target market. Item came already assembled, but parts had hidden themselves in the assembly providing us with the novel experience of disassembling the reassembling the item to find all of the included accessories. Our first issue with the connected app came when the machine refused to use our hotspot to connect to the server for us, requiring us to do everything in offline mode, more on that later. The low entry made it easy for our senior cat to use, but without an active connection to manage the litter box using their app we found that almost all of the functions were limited or missing. Scooping had to be done using a manual press of the buttons on the litter box itself, including extra confirmation presses because yes we know the cat came over to look at the box or yes something (us) is in front of the sensor to push the button. Filling the litter box the first time did not have clear indicators and the fill line did not help, as the litter box claimed it needed more litter to the point that the litter was pouring out regardless of the fill lines. There were daily clumps stuck to the outside of the mat that needed to be cleared with scooper. This was more a quirk of our senior cat’s toileting habits, but enough of an issue that they mentioned it in their manual as an item to watch out for. We had already decided this item wasn’t for us before the when it was time to empty out the litter for first time. For this litter box, the easy way to do this is to use the app to dump the litter into the scoop section. For our household it meant a relatively simple disassembly, you remove the top, unclasp two latches, then can pick up the drum. What follows that step is a mini game where one person holds the trash can steady while the other person pours and rotates the drum to try to get all of the litter out. 1/10 would not play again. 10/10 had to vacuum more spilled litter than I’ve ever had to while cleaning a regular litter box. While a cute concept, and probably fairly easy to use with proficiency and the right Internet setup, the missing functions made this a no-go for us. These are largely problems that you wouldn’t know you would have until the item has come home and you’ve experienced how it fits with you and your cat. The return process at this point feels like a feature of the product. Review for return/accompanied service of the product: Originally planned on leaving a 2 star review, but when we went to return the item there were other extenuating circumstances that lead us to believe it would be easier and better to try to connect this item to someone locally who would be interested in getting it at a discount rather than go through the hassle of returning it at our own cost, including clear indicators that we would need to pay for return shipping and expectations that we would likely receive a partial refund. This was not the litter box or experience for us, but we hope to find someone who this will be a 4 star experience for. As of now for the sake of household sanity and overall family health we’re keeping the Fumoi! Which is another automatic we got the same day to tryout. AND it doesn’t require internet wifi connection to self rotate a drum to dump cat bathroom messes into the waste bin below. Also no requirement of two people litter box dumping without wifi. The this litterbox might’ve been a top 5 recommended automatic cat box for 2025. However, living life with a frequently checked-out library hotspot for wifi. It quickly became an automatic no-good for us. Since it wasn’t even up and running for 8 days I can’t speak to its durability but which so much of it plastic it’s likely not holding up for two cat lifetimes. The overall litter box size was fine for both a 7lb and 9lb cat. I personally don’t think I’d invest much time in looking at things that this company makes because the lack of forethought and considerations of engineering. This product seems so hyper fixated on an automotive litter box on 4G being essential for what I feel is bare minimum maintenance standards. I don’t want to have to manually push a button several times a day when my Fumoi automatic litter box one does it on its own.

I absolutely love this litter box. One thing to keep in mind is the cost of maintenance. The padding needs to be replaced every few months (around $32), and the replacement bags can add up, but there are cheaper alternatives out there. Disclaimer I only have one cat. But extremely worth it especially with a busy schedule. The convenience alone makes it worth it. The app is also a huge plus since it tracks multiple things and keeps everything really easy to manage. It does take a little time to get used to all the features, but once you do, it’s super helpful. It fully self-dumps the litter when it’s time for changing. About once a month, I do a deep clean and wipe down the inside. There are a few small crevices, but honestly it’s not bad at all. The whole reset process takes about 30 minutes max. Overall, it does an amazing job controlling odor and keeping things clean. I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for something convenient and low-maintenance.

Update: EVEN CUSTOMER SERVICE IS GREAT. Customer service offered to replace my possibily defective liner. I really love my litter box and I'm hoping this will fix my issues. Original: Great automatic litter box with one fatal flaw: the litter liner. I was hesitant because it was a fabric liner but was assured by manufacturer updates and reviews that the updated liner shouldn't pose any issues. True, that it does not leak thanks to the update to designs. But fabric is fabric. This thing absorbs messes until it'll get stiff. Especially if your cat is a spiteful creature who only uses one corner of the litter box. I deep clean every 2-3weeks but no amount of soaking with enzyme cleaner will ever fully get rid of the smell. I LOVE all other features of this automatic litter box. The weighing is accurate, the safety features work perfectly, the odor control of the receptacle actually works, the app is approachable and easy to navigate Even the stickers are cute! Everything but the liner. I will eventually have to replace the liner once it become too much to bear but had I known of this issue, it would have absolutely been a deal breaker.
