Great kit, takes time and patience, worth every penny when finished
Kind of a chuckle looking at the negative reviews here. This kit takes time, patience and gentle hands to assemble. Iโm assuming the 1-2 star reviews are from people who expected to put this together like a Lego kit, which can be manhandled. This is a very intricate kit. I did mine over a 3 day period and the only issue I had was simply trying to rush it and I would miss a step or detail The instructions come separately in each of the 3 boxes in this kit. They are extremely thorough and well laid out. Simply take your time and read the manual. The assembly will be enjoyable and the finished product a showpiece. This is not a static model like a book shelf puzzle this has many moving parts and if you do what the instructions guide you to do, you will have no issues The material quality is excellent. There are varying thicknesses of material depending on the function of that piece. Some support, some flex, some are turning constantly. Wax is supplied but I highly recommend Burtโs Bees lip balm as it is bees wax and much easier to apply evenly. Amazon sells it BTW. There are clippers supplied, a slotted screwdriver and a Philips head screwdriver. I have larger hands and some pieces are small so I use a very small screwdriver and a pair of need nose pliers to gently place a few parts in smaller places. The panels are laser cut. Ultra precision. Donโt just push out the pieces you can see where they are attached, put pressure at those points, one at a time and remove this pieces. This is only with some of the smaller pieces, the larger ones practically remove themselves. This is normal with kits of this type. This kit has some tools within the wood panels that you assemble to help with the build. They are excellent. You do this model in 3 parts. I did the space port first then the smaller marble run then tied them together. About 20 hours to complete at a leisurely pace. I enjoyed every moment of the build The kit is excellent and works exactly as you see in the video on the listing. The lights are great, the motor keeps it going by itself, its entertaining to watch and itโs a conversation piece in my home. Is it a kids toy, no Is 15+ the right age, probably. Patience, care and following directions are the key with intricate models like this. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Itโs a beautiful model from a well designed and manufactured kit Is it worth the money. Absolutely again. For the size and for what it does this is a bargain. This is a take your time hobby kit. Buy it, relax and enjoy building a showpiece.

Fun puzzle set, but pay close attention to sanding and lubrication steps.
This is a fun puzzle set, but you need to pay close attention to sanding and lubricating the gearing to get it to work well. I did the space port first which has the motor. I did sand and lubricate it as instructed, but I could have done a better job. In particular, there are vertical surface areas that rub against each other that I didn't focus on much and make sure not to squeeze those parts together any tighter than necessary to avoid friction. I also didn't operate it much by hand to break it in before moving on to the motor install. I'm not sure if these issues were the cause, but it ran for about 5 minutes before it stopped and then when I clear a jam in the lift assembly and plugged it back in it just made a grinding noise with stripped gears in the motor. Customer support was very helpful and sent me a new motor free of charge which arrived in about ten days shipping from China. I moved on with the Night City and most of the link pack. Then operated both manually for probably a couple hours while waiting for the new motor. It seemed to get easier to operate after some break in. I also used a silicone wood lubricant to supplement the provided wax. I have ran it with the motor for a few hours without issues. I loses balls occasionally which I think will be normal. I got a magnetic part retriever for fishing the ball out from underneath. It took about 26 hours total with about 11 for the Space Port, 8 for the Night City, and 7 for the link pack. I believe it was around 900 total pieces.

Good overall, but the elevator backs up. Some mods required.
Just finished it in about 22 hours. At first, it kept shutting off about every 10 seconds or so, I guess due to resistance on the motor. After waxing the belts and gears a bit more, it now stays on. Overall, I found the models to be very accurate and instructions were fantastic. I had an issue with the diverter on the top of the Marble Night City side. I added an arch to give it some weight that that did the trick. I'm still having issues with the vertical elevator on the Marble Spaceport side though. It doesn't move them up fast enough and so balls collect at the bottom. Eventually, all the balls end up there and it jams. To help, I modified the diverter on that side to always send balls to the other side. This helps but since there is a big diverter upstream that only sends half the balls right down to the elevator, it eventually backs up. In the pictures I show the mods I made. Ended up with lots of spare parts. YIKES! It's worth the build I think. I'll keep tweaking the elevator...

Night City kit was made with substandard wood and should never have gotten past quality control.
The marble space port kit was absolutely excellent. It was a good thing I put that one together first because if I'd started with the Night City kit I think I'd have trashed the whole thing. The quality of the wood in the Night City kit is utterly horrible. Incredibly flimsy quality wood with structural flaws in the parts that are so bad that just trying to punch them out of the sheets breaks them. Pieces fit together badly. Tabs don't match the slots they're supposed to fit in... Space port was fun to build and works beautifully. Night City? I'm at the point where I have almost as much glue being used to hold broken parts together as there is wood. It's like the Night city kit was made by an entirely different manufacturer using substandard materials. Very disappointed with this, especially after the first kit went together so well. There's simply no excuse for this. The Night City kit should never have gotten through quality control. Addendum: I am editing this to remove the two stars and drop it to one star. I just finished the Night City kit and trying to operate it has resulted in many of the friction fit parts simply coming apart. The plywood is of such poor quality that just fitting the parts together caused layers of the plywood to peel off upon insertion resulting in loose joints. It's going to be impossible to fix any of it without completely disassemble the whole thing and because of the incredibly fragile plywoods and poor quality fit it's never going to go back together. What makes this so frustrating is that the Spaceport kit was beautifully made with high quality plywood and everything just fit properly from the beginning. Night City on the other hand is so badly made and uses such poor quality wood that I can't believe it's from the same company.

Take your time!
This was an INCREDIBLY challenging build, but the finished product is so rewarding. A couple of the ramps on the night city build, and the lift mechanism on the spaceport build, do not work perfectly, but Iโm pretty sure that can be chalked up to human error. The parts are very carefully constructed, easy to remove from their casing, but again, I would recommend this for adults only, or a VERY patient teenager. The night city build has a lot of thin parts so I had to be really careful when pressing together or pushing on them (I did snap a few). The spaceport build had a lot of thicker pieces, and felt a little easier to put together. I did have a modeling tool kit at my disposal, and while the builds come with some tools (wax, screwdrivers, sandpaper), I was grateful to have the extra equipment when I needed it. The instructions are pretty thorough, and reminded me of Ikea, but for toys , so if instructions like that donโt drive you crazy youโll be fine. Overall, love the build, loved the challenge, and would recommend it for any model enthusiast.

Don't skimp on the wax! These run tight and may overload the motor.
I'm torn between a 3 and 4 on this one. I've built several Rokr kits in the past, and this one measures up to previous experiences in all facets. As a frequent kit builder, I found the kit to be minimally challenging. I also did not have problems with wood or cut quality during my assembly. I will note however, that wood quality can vary between kits and even over the span of a single board. I did encounter and few (very few) pieces cut into bad sections of wood that resulted in weak pieces. This was Not the norm and very infrequent. My biggest reservation with these 2 kits is how difficult they are to get to "loosen up" or start moving smoothly and easily. I was never able to get the spaceport to move freely enough for the electric motor to power the toy. This got even worse when I tried to connect the 2 kits together. The added friction from an overly tight belts and the combined friction of the 2 toys caused the motor to shut itself down after 3-5 seconds of operation. I've never gotten the full kit to work continuously. An earlier reviewer suggested hooking up a drill to the toy and running it for awhile to grind in the wax. I will try this soon. I did have limited success spraying key areas with silicon spray, letting it dry out in a heated room, and then working the system. However, this was not sufficient to loosen up the overall toy and the belt friction was still a problem. In conclusion, I enjoyed building the kits and connecting them. I felt the build quality was sufficient overall. I would admit it's a bit on the high side for price-point, but I still enjoyed the kit. My biggest reservation(s) are in regards to the tightness and friction in the toys. I would give this set a 4 or even a 5 if I could get it to run consistently.

Marble run 3 in one
Marble run space port is increadably well engineered and fits together to create an increadably stable, strong model. The night city model is not as well engineered and is more delicate. Fine tuning and adjusting is required for it to work correctly. Space port has moterized option within the kit. This portion requires some "renovating" if the kit to join the two is used. You can save some work by reviewing before completing space port. This model is very precise and considerable time is required to fine tune for it to run smoothly. For this reason alone I gave a 4 rating. I don't believe i could ever get it to run without balls getting hung up.
