Outstanding!
This remote does everything I need it for and does it well. Before I ordered it Amazon's disclaimer of this item experiencing frequent returns worried me. I now know why people frequently return this. I'm thinking this item may probably sit in stock awhile running the cheap battery out and I think it does save power by sleeping if unused for some time but you just have to hit any button to wake it up or turn it off then on again. Anyway after using it daily about a few weeks it started acting up. I almost gave up, ordered another, then decided to check battery voltage: 2.79V. Thats significantly lower than a new one so I cancelled the order and decided to order a pack of lithium duracells. Time will tell but I'm pretty sure the problems are gone! Instantly connects, rock solid performance unless it's sleeping. I love it and use it all day long daily. Love that it actually has an actual on off switch instead of having to do a long press on some button. If I'm wrong about the end of it misbehaving I'll update this review.

I've been with Amazon since the 1990s, and this might be my all-time favorite purchase.
I listen to a LOT of podcasts and books while driving or trying to sleep. This remote works perfectly to fully control (pause/resume/skip/rewind/mute/vol+-) the relevant apps (Pocket Casts and Audible) on my Android 15 phone. The battery lasts 2-3 months with regular use as I drive long road trips or drift to sleep (in bed, not behind the wheel) with podcasts/books in my ears. CR2032 replacement is cheap and simple with its quick-release back cover. The buttons respond quickly to a light firm touch, unlike other remotes I've tested which take about twice as much force (with mushy buttons that lag and leave me wondering whether I've pressed them, resulting in unwanted double-presses most of the time). All buttons but one map to their relevant functions as labelled (including the Home and Photo Shutter buttons). The only one which doesn't work is the phone button, but that's a net positive for me -- I don't want to wake anyone up with my snoring when I accidentally press it in the middle of the night. I'd be just as happy if they'd left that one out. Bluetooth connectivity has been flawless for me as well. It has a hardware on/off switch which I turn off sometimes when I'm not using it, but it connects instantly when I switch it back on (whichever one I happen to pick up) and never drops the connection. Even the keyring is surprisingly useful. I usually toss those when they come with things like this, but this one lets me keep the remote dangling from a finger for easy access to the skip button whenever I wake up to a loud podcast commercial in the middle of the night. Skip-skip-skip and I'm back to dreamland in minutes. I've bought three so far and will certainly buy more, to have one nearby in whatever car or room I might occupy while listening. If you've read this far you'll want several too. Keep this in mind when you need to bump your cart up to $25 for overnight delivery.

Using this fob, playing music will allow your iPhone to function like the CLICK wheel on an iPod.
I have kept my iPod for years in the car because it's easy to bump to the next song. This fob has a CLICK wheel that works much like the iPod wheel. It hooks up easily to the iPhone and functions much like an iPod. I'll see how it works in the long run, but so far I am very happy with it.

Powers itself off after a few minutes.
Remote unit powers off after a few minutes, requiring a power on/off cycle to reconnect the bluetooth connection. Purchased this controller to mute or adjust volume on laptop while watching football, etc. Switching the unit on and off every time it's used renders the thing mostly useless. Dumb design.

Solid Remote
Near perfect. I my search for an external mute button for my iPad I gave the BT Remote a try. Two things would make it perfect. First a rechargeable battery. Even though it shuts off on it's own it still goes through batteries rapidly. Second nearly all the buttons will wake the remote and a second press will preform the function. It would be nice if the mute button were one of the buttons that could wake the remote. The workaround is to first press some other button to wake the remote followed by the button press you wanted in the first place. Being able to press the Mute button twice would be nice. Over all a solid remote, just make sure to keep a bunch of CR2032 button batteries on hand.
