Barn Owl Pellets for Dissection, Solo Essentials Kit, Large 1-Pack by OBDK

We absolutely loved this owl pellet dissection kit for our homeschool science lessons! It was such a fun, hands-on way to learn about food chains, predators, prey, ecosystems, and animal anatomy without it feeling like “school work.” My son was completely engaged from start to finish trying to identify all the tiny bones and pieces inside the pellet. The kit came with everything we needed to get started including the tools and identification guide, which made it super beginner-friendly. The pellet itself was a great size and had plenty to discover inside. It turned into one of those homeschool activities that sparked tons of questions and real conversations about nature and biology. I also appreciated that it wasn’t overly messy and cleanup was easier than expected. The quality was great for the price, and it made science feel exciting and memorable instead of just reading from a textbook. If you homeschool, teach science, or just have an animal-loving kid who enjoys STEM activities, this is definitely worth adding to your lessons!

My 8 year old girl really enjoyed it. She was amazed by all the bones and rats skulls we got. It came well packaged,with tools and a bone chart so you can identify which bone you got. She was a little gross at the beginning, cause it does have a smell bit once she found the fist bone she was all hand in Great price and great product!

I bought these for my kids to go with our homeschool unit. They were awesome! The kids really enjoyed them (although, did request to wear gloves as they got a little grossed out knowing what they were touching). The only thing I wish they had was a card or print out of the skeleton so you could layout the bones to recreate the skeleton accurately. We found a print out online and did our best to recreate the skeleton. It was great.

AWESOME. Bought a large pellet and was very happy. Ended up with 2 nearly complete skeletons. Came well packaged and with little tools for "dissecting". Well worth the educational experience!

Kids had a great time doing these but the tools included were less than helpful.

I got these for my 4 and 6 year olds, because my 6 year old had recently heard about owl pellets and was interested in seeing one. I got two medium sized pellets and both were loaded with several skulls and an abundance of smaller ribs, leg bones, et cetera. Telling between a rat and a vole was difficult (perhaps guidance if there's a difference in size would be helpful?) but for their age, the project was enough. My children were, however, disappointed when I told them that no, we couldn't save the bones for 7 months to decorate for Halloween 😂 Overall, I think this is a great hands-on educational activity that can help teach kids about the food chain and encourage an interest in biology.
