BFXM 4140 Pry Tool, Trim Removal Tool, Panel Removal Tools for Auto Trim

For years, I removed trim the traditional way: grab the nearest flathead screwdriver, jam it somewhere it was never designed to go, scratch the hell out of something, break at least one clip, bleed a little, cuss a lot, and then blame the engineer who designed the vehicle. Then I bought this thing. Son of a bitch. It slides behind trim like it has a search warrant. Clips pop loose, panels come off, and suddenly I’m standing there wondering why I spent 20 years using a Craftsman screwdriver like a medieval pry bar. It’s thin, strong, simple, and apparently designed by somebody who has actually worked on a vehicle before. Will it eliminate all the cussing? Absolutely not. This is automotive repair—we have standards to maintain. But now at least I’m cussing at the vehicle instead of the tool. 5 stars. My flathead screwdrivers can finally go back to being used as chisels.

This tool makes pulling parts so much easier. It is sturdy quality metal, it hasn’t bent at all. Great price for the peace of mind. Highly recommend if you pull parts a lot.

Bought this on a whim to try out. Pleasantly surprised. Good quality. You’re not prying apart boards with it. Great for little projects or it’s imperiled use on panels.

wedged this under a door panel clip and a console trim edge on a short trim job. steel tip is thin enough to get under plastic without the usual "I'm about to crack this" panic you get from fat plastic pry sticks. listing says 4140 steel, chrome plated, about 6.7 inches. feels denser than the toy-bin trim tools. tip isn't razor sharp, which is the point. concave handle is fine for light prying; it's not a breaker bar. lives in the glovebox without claiming half the bin. keep if you do occasional panel work. skip if you need a full clip-remover set with multiple tips.

This is another one of those tools that you don’t think you’ll ever need — until you need it. And then you need it BADLY. Everyone’s marred-up car trim pieces or tightly snapped together parts by using the wrong tools. This entire tool, particularly the “tang” part, is remarkably stiff. It just doesn’t bend. Those orange plastic “pry tools” have nothing on this. It is basically a hand sized pry bar for forcing apart impossibly tight fasteners. Note that ALL of the edges are rounded-off and the prying “tang” is not very thin. That’s intentional. Nothing is sharp to avoid scratching finishes. If you’re looking for something very thin to fit into a tiny crack and pry apart, this is the wrong tool. But if you need extra leverage removing snap-on trim pieces or prying apart small parts, this will do the job quickly.
