Excellent quality as a reasonable price
What can I say, a stunning set of knives!I am no professional chef, but a slightly eager home cook. After reading a number of reviews I opted for the wusthof set and was not disappointed.Initially I was just looking to get a chefs knife, but having seen this set for just a little more it seemed illogical not to go for it.The quality of the knives is exceptional. It turns meal prep into a breeze and the heft and eight of the knives are really impressive. I am yet to find something they can’t do, and make prepping even squash and swede a piece of cake. The knives do have some weight to them which makes chopping easier, but they aren’t so heavy that your arms start to tire. They have a large bolster (the part separating the handle and blade) which won’t be for everyone, but I found it to be really comfortable when holding the knife with my middle finger just behind it and forefinger and thumb on the blade.Only word of caution would be to ensure you care for them well (avoid the dishwasher and cutlery draw as they will blunt the blade very quickly) and to invest in a decent sharpener to be used every time the knife comes out to keep the blade sharp.Been using for three months now with no sign of wearing, and they look like they will do the job for many years to come!

Quality kitchen knives
Bought these knives as a cheaper alternative to Japanese products and was not disappointed. Solingen is famous for excellent steel blades and these knives do not disappoint in the kitchen. They arrived well packaged and undamaged with an edge that cuts paper. They are well balanced and have already had an impact on my everyday cooking. Easy to use although the slicer in this set is a little short at 16cm. The 20cm chefs knife is a joy with plenty of weight and a good sized grip for my large hands. I have not yet sharpened these knives in the short time I've had them but will be using the Wusthof ceramic sharpener. Will not be putting them in the dishwasher and I always clean them immediately after use. Beautiful steel, if you buy it respect it and look after it.

My first - and maybe my last - proper knife set
I've never owned nice knives before and this is a great starter set. Before I bought this set I used to just use 2 small knives for everything because the chef's knife intimidated me. However now I use the chef's knife from this set 90% of the time because it's so easy to use and well-balanced even though it's 30% bigger than the previous chef's knife I had. The other two smaller knives are really nice too. They're all sharp and look great. A friend recommended them and I have not been disappointed so far (been using them about a month). The quality seems great and feels like they will last for ages

Great knives for the price
Definitely the best kitchen knives we have bought, and we have bought quite a few over the years! Great to handle, retai. Their sharpness for a good while and sharpen back up quickly. The smallest blade is very fine and sharp which caught me out a couple of times, so be careful.

Great starter set for amateur cooks!
Recently bought these as I was sick of toiling with the cheap knives I’ve always had. Pro chefs bang on about the need for quality knives that are sharp and now I know why. The chefs knife in this set is unbelievably sharp right out of the box. Slices through everything I’ve thrown at with ease. So much safer and precise than a cheap blunt knife. Really impressed, hopefully these will last me many years but I won’t hesitate to buy Wusthof in future.

Comfortable, balanced, very sharp...
I’ve been using these every day for about 6 weeks now. Very sharp indeed. Beautiful balance. The overall finish is very good quality. The classic ikon has a different handle, same blade - I find the ‘plain‘ old classic to be very comfortable over extended periods and do not find himself hankering after the more refined looking ikon.Previously used global knives. The classics are less expensive, slightly weightier but arguably better balanced and just as sharp. The chef’s knife is a delight to use. The bolster doesn’t interfere at all with a pinch grip, if anything making it more secure. The pairing knife is also a fine, well balanced blade that is easy to grip securely. The 16 cm sees far less use, would rather have a serrated blade for soft fruit in the set.Still, the set is a bargain and I wish that I hadn’t fetishised the Global brand for so long. The Wusthof classics are excellent knives; robust, well balanced, sharp, comfortable. Oh, and the red labels soon drop off making for a more understated Look. Strongly recommended.

A pleasure to use
We already had a fairly recent Wusthof carving set and when the time came to replace our rather elderly and well used kitchen knives we went for this knife set.The balance and finish of the knives is perfect and makes cooking a pleasure. They arrived well sharpened and the 20cm cooks knife in particular has become the new kitchen jack of all trades. The 16cm utility knife has found many uses particularly in baking and the small 9cm blade is so useful that we've bought a second one for when we're both cooking. They're kept handy on a magnetic knife rack and washed/dried by hand after every use. Knives of this quality deserve a bit of respect and I'm sure they'll return it by many years of service.

SERIOUS KNIVES FOR SERIOUS COOKS
can i just say - wow.I upgraded from a set of henckels 4 star. Friodour steel is great but too difficult to put a new edge on. the wusthofs should be slightly softer steel which will be easier to maintain. These knives are seriously classy. This is a particuarly good set also I think the large paring knife is possible a bit pointless. not sure what i will use this for that the chefs knife or small parer wouldn't be better for. chefs knife a beauty to behold. great balance, nice profile and thickness, very solid knife will last a lifetime

Extremely high quality knives
I liked the 3 knife package as it makes a hearty gift. My wife and I have had a set of Wustoff Knives for over 30 years and they are just a good as the day we bought them. I wish Wustoff made Toasters!

For the price these knives cannot be beat.
Funny title considering the cost, I know, but there is an old adage of you get what you pay for. Sure, I could go to Wal-Mart and pick up a $4 chef knife and it will cut things, but there are so many more variables than just being able to cut something. My brother owns a set of these knives, and my dad always praised them when he owned a restaurant, which led me to my final decision. I cut tons of veggies and wanted knives that I would be happy to use, not just get me by. They do the trick, and with proper maintenance can last a long time.I had a friend who tried to convince me to get cutco knives, he said the free sharpening was what sealed the deal. I know how to properly steel a knife and prefer doing that every other day than having to send my knife somewhere to have it sharpened. Don't even get me started on the difference in quality steel between the two knives.

Quando si dice...
Saluti.
