Love this Boxcutter!
I have had one of these box cutters since the early 2000's when I misplaced it I ordered 3 more to take its place and it showed back up in the office at work.... I love this thing! Its light weight, can be put in the sheath or in your pocket for quick use, very durable as its been dropped, knocked off shelves and put in a backpack with a ton of work stuff and has not broke. Really a good value for your money.

Excellent product with too many features.
It's obvious that a lot of attention was put into the design of this product and it is feature full, to a point that it has too many features that are not useful for my use case (having a knife on my desk for a quick opening of Amazon packages). The first thing I did with it was simplifying it, threw away the holster, removed the key ring and chain, remove the edge guides and chopped that yellow dial (which made the handler smoother in my hand) and ended up with a bare bone great box knife. I wish Easy Cut would sell such a stripped down version with the squeeze trigger, replaceable blades and internal blade storage. Product features in arbitrary order * There are two guides on the left and right of the blade that you can pull out independently, in case you wan to cut just a few millimeters from the edge of the box (I don't need it). * The holster and clip allow to hang it on your belt for a quick use (I don't need it just leave the cutter on my desk). * The holster has two little levers, one for each of the blade guide. You can set them for example such that when you pull the cutter from the holster the left guide will be pulled out (active) and the right one will be in (inactive). Not useful for me. * The blade depth dial at the back of the cutter allow to control how much the blade will come out (1, 2, 3) or to lock it in (L). You set it up by turning the dial. The sequence on he dial is strange (L, 1, 2, 3, L, 1, 2 L...) but not a show stopper. When you hold the cutter in your hand the dial comes out of the smooth outline of the handle and you can feel it in your hand. I cut it out for a smoother handle. * Blades are double edges such they have double the life time. (good). I wish they would be marked with 1, 2 so I can tell if I am using the second or the first edge. * Replacing blades is easy, you pull the colored lever, remove the old blade an insert the new one (or flip the old one). Make sure the notch in the blade sits nicely on top of the matching tab. * Inside the cutter handle there is a compartment for spare or used blades. I could fit 2 easily, it may contain 3 or more but I had only two blades to try. * The product came with two blades (4 lifetimes), one in the spare blade compartment and one loaded at the front. * You use the cutter by squeezing the lever. This is easy and intuitive and the spring action is light (good). * If you need to service the cutter, it is held in place by 5 screws (two small ones and three larger ones). The screws has triangle head but I could screw and unscrew them with small flat watchmaker screwdrivers. * At the max extension (3 on the dial), the blade comes out about 14mm. * The length of the cutter handle is 150mm.

The perfect box cutter doesn't exi....? NM
It slices, it dices, it cuts open boxes, it locks, it stores, it doesn't disappoint. Great design and quality for small blades, extra compartment for a spare blade, 3 height settings, and very easy to store and grab on your hip.

Very Useful, Convenient Tool. Aviod Rough Treatment
Extremely useful box cutter, you can clip the holster to your pants or where ever for convenient access. I use this at work in a retail backroom environment and it is a valuable tool in breaking down boxes. On the holster, there is an attachment clip, which is a little difficult to remove from the holster, can be removed and replaced on the right side of the holster to be attached to the left of your body and use by your left hand. There is also a coil of elastic plastic attached to the holster by a clip and a ring on the box cutter that prevents the box cutter from moving far from your body. The holster also featured dials on the front part that will enable you to pull the left and/or right metal guards out as you pull out the box cutter without pulling them up yourself. These dials tend to work well initially, but do tend to wear to the point that the guards are minimally pulled up or not at all. As for the box cutter itself, the box cutter uses non-standard blades with two individual blades separated by a slot that works with the box cutter's squeeze to extend mechanism. The box cutter has a dial that sets how much of the blade is extended in 1, 2, 3, and L for lock. The blade is extended when the pressure is applied to the yellow squeeze trigger on the bottom and is retracted when the trigger is released. Inside the yellow top line hood you can change blades and store two additional used/new blades in the yellow hooded compartment. While this is a very useful tool, certain parts, such as the clip attaching the plastic cord to the holster, will likely break if treated roughly. I would also avoid dropping the the box cutter on a hard surface as it can, and personally has, prevented the blade from extending properly. Wear and tear on the guard dials on the holster can prevent the dials from extending the guards. The non-standard blades are provided by my place of employment, but the blades themselves still have good value, though I would consider getting blades if they are not provided. If there is a similar, better made version of this box cutter, I would probably get that instead.

Great and safe slicing tool
Bought this as we have so many boxes from Amazon that I have to break down for recycling . . Works great and the depth is perfect.

My employer used to provide these knives and blades. Then decided the blades were too expensive and now give us crappy knives. I purchased this knife (and a box of blades) for myself. Simple design. The squeeze trigger/release for the blade is so much more convenient than having to slide the blade up.

I use it for cutting grocery product open and putting product on shelves for eight hours a night. I'll need two knives a year just in case blade somehow enters the body of the knife than you have to take knife apart to remove blade. No time to do that at work. Other wise knife fits comfortable in hand and has a decent life span.
