I was looking into vacuum extraction for oil changes and decided to buy a pump. This worked fantastically and easily drew a strong vacuum on and off for about four hours in a leaky DIY fluid extractor while I failed miserably at getting the tube I was using to actually draw oil out of the pan. While my attempts at oil extraction were abysmal, the pump was not, and it easily moved the oil up multiple feet of tubing when tested. It has worked great since in other projects, such as degassing silicone molds and vacuum bagging carbon fiber composites. One gripe I have with this pump is that it did not come with enough oil to properly fill it to the minimum oil line, so I had to go out and buy more, which was not easy because the type of oil is not labeled on the bottle. If this problem were addressed, it would easily be 5 stars.
