Graphite SARAL TRANSFER PAPER-Tracing-Sketch-Drawing

I’ve used this transfer paper for years. Erases from your paper well once you start your painting. I use it for my watercolors and recommend it to my students.

Used this my artwork for a while now. Excellent product. Beats scraping graphite on to tracing paper or film. Great use of transfer major details for photos and sketches to finish paper. Works well: for tracing accurately, Comes in many useful colors. Value for money: reasonable Use: works very well for intended use, less messy than other methods Paper quality: holds up to more than one use

This carbon paper worked great on my 16” X 20” gesso board. The carbon paper can be messy on your hands but I had no issues on my board. The traced lines are bit light but you can see the lines and no need to erase any smudges on the board. As you can see the photo I had a lot of details to draw. It will be a sunset ocean shore pier oil painting. I recommend this product. It really makes it so much easier with the size of this reusable roll carbon paper and cost effective. Even though it comes rolled in a nice box, the paper lays flat and no creases.

Grateful to find it. In graphic arts since 1980's, and am so sick of my computer I wish to return to the way I did art in the beginning. I still have a roll from back then, just a few cut off sheets, but it's still good- I was just running low.

This is great to use as a transfer. I work in mixed media. I draw on my substrate whatever the object of my painting will be. Then I copy what I drew onto a large tissue paper. Then I do a collage on the substrate that ends up covering my entire canvas. Once I am done with the collage, I used the transfer paper under my tissue drawing to replace the original drawing on top of the collage. It did an excellent job, leaving recognizable lines on top of colors. It is not so dark, however, that I can not. paint over it. The only problem is that if my hand rests on the tracing paper, I it left marks on my work. These marks were difficult to erase. While it is a good thing that the transfer paper works easily, it may be just a tad too easy making a mess. Overall I would say this is a good choice but not great.

This paper made my life as an artist so much easier. This one was SO easy to erase! It made me so happy. I was able to easily transfer my drawings onto another surface and wipe away the graphite to start coloring it. The paper can also be reusable and you don’t have to get a new piece every time you trace from it! You can get a lot of uses out of a single page. I will be buying more once I run out. Never stop making these!

Current project is a Scandinavian folk art chest. The design panels are painted with a pastel yellow latex paint, and will be highly decorated with plants, leaves, and animals when complete. Used the graphite color to trace design onto the top of the chest. After I commence painting multiple leaves, I discovered that the graphite DOES NOT COME OFF. I tried everything: 3 kinds of recommended erasers, alcohol, Dawn, turpentine, Magic Eraser sponge, and everything else I could think of. Most of these methods altered the pigment, leaving dark yellow blotches filled with graphite smudges. The only way to salvage this project will be to paint over all of the lines and smudges with pastel yellow. I am using Rustoleum Ultra-cover, which covers better than most paint, yet requires THREE COATS to cover the graphite lines. That's three coats, around every single small leaf and petal. Either that, or 3 coats over the entire design to block out the ugly mess and start from scratch. This is a DISASTER. Company promotes this product as completely erasable, BUT IT IS NOT ERASABLE ON A LATEX PAINTED SURFACE. I will experiment with the white or yellow varieties of Saral. However, I don't want ANY visible lines in my project, regardless of what color they are. Very disgusted with this product.

Received package in good time. Saral Transfer Tracing Paper -Wax Free Graphite is a very good product for transferring copy to artwork. handling has to be very careful to avoid smudging. marks and density can be removed with a soft eraser.

Saral is not one piece as stated but 3 pieces as previous comments said. I don’t feel that is a problem. Shipping could have been better, carton was crushed but again I can deal with that. Am having a bit of a problem with transfer showing up on Watercolor paper but may need to use sharper pencil or stylus. Am happy with the fact that it does erase easily.

Not dark enough transfer
