Exactly What I Was Looking For
I work in a decent sized cubicle but it has limited drawer and desktop space. Then I got a scanner. And a printer. Then a tech who insisted my computer tower HAD to be relocated from under my desk to on top of it. Add a dozen new work project folders and the walls closed in. The sheer amount of paper around me started to get to me. I decided I needed to clear up space, and getting my project file files, books, binders, and expandable/accordion file boxes off the desk and into alternative storage felt like the perfect way to get some breathing room. After looking at all the options, this cart seems like the perfect solution. It’s short enough to fit under my desk, tall enough to hold hanging files, offered a bonus bottom shelf for miscellaneous items, and had wheels so I can easily pull it out and to my chair for easy access. Assembly was easy. I am confident I could have handled it alone, but it was nice to have a second set of hands around just in case. The instructions were clear, but I read them through before starting. Two things to note: 1. There are no pre-attached nuts/bolt. They come in the bag with the 8 screws (screws 1-4 are for the bottom panel of the filing cabinet construction. Screws 5-8 are for the bottom shelf assembly). 2. There are no plastic caster sleeves. They were already pre-inserted into the cart legs, so I just had to stick the casters with their metal shafts into the legs. They fit great. Nice and snug so far. Also, one of the low reviews (Courtney) mentions the corners didn’t line up square. I ran into this problem when attempting to put in the 4th screw. Because of that review, I was expecting this issue. I went back, took out all the screws, reinserted them so that I attached Cart Side 1 first, then Cart Side 2 and that fixed the problem. Everything squared up perfectly. So if you run into this problem, back up a few steps, play with the order in which you started putting the screws in (1-4), and it should resolve itself. Also, for those who had the cart collapse during assembly, there are for protruding prongs on each end that slip into holes on the side piece that hold it together as you work to attach the filing cabinet bottom (first) then the bottom shelf. I experienced no issues with the cart coming anywhere near collapse during assembly. After the squaring issue was solved, everything went smoothly. The cart seems sturdy, well put together, and exactly what I wanted. A few things to note: The filing cabinet is deep enough for hanging files. They fit fine and do not hit the bottom. The bottom shelf will hold expandable file boxes. If they have a handle, you will have to squish the handle down to make it fit. Getting it out might be tricky. Time will tell for me. The shelf does not allow enough space for binders to be stored upright. Books will depend on their size. I would like 3 improvements: 1. A plastic lid to cover my files. But that might make the cart too tall to slide under my desk. We’ll see. But I figure if I do want a cover, I can find a generic plastic lid somewhere. 2. A handle or handhold hole either on the front or sides of the cart to get a hold of the cart and pull it out. Right now I think the cart’s height vs the space under my desk will prevent me from getting my fingers around the top edge to pull toward me. If true, I’ll just get creative and rig some kind of handle or pull through the grating holes. 3. The cart needs some kind of bar spanning the bottom shelf and sides to keep the things you put on the bottom shelf from toppling off. Just a little extra security when pulling and rolling, you know? I figure a bungee cord stretched taut around it will take care of that easy enough. This seems like a great cart. So far I’m confident with my purchase and will update if issues come up during use. Update 9/20/201: And it fit under my desk! Barely, but it fits and wow is there a lot of room. So for a great product.

Ignore the 2 star reviews - this is a 5 star product.
I received this item yesterday and am very happy with the purchase. I work from a home office and wanted something nicer than the cheap looking plastic versions of a rolling file cart. Here are the reasons I gave it five stars: - it looks super nice for a home office- it very efficiently fits right under my desk so it doesn't take up floor space in my small office. The assembled height is 27 3/4" and my desk height is 28" so just be aware of height if you are looking to have it fit under your desk. - it is very solid and sturdy - it's made from steel/metal and not cheap plastic like other versions you see online - letter sized files with file holders fit perfectly - bottom shelf is very strong and could hold things like reams of paper for a printer, if needed - this item does not wobble in the least - it is super safe and durable - it has a nice sheen to it - it's not too shiny and not matt - just a nice in between sheen that makes it a nice looking piece of office furniture - super smooth rolling mechanism for moving the cart around. I saw that 2 individuals gave this product 2 stars because the holes didn't line up correctly. There was no need for this and there is no need for concern. This product did not deserve 2 stars for this reason. Yes, it is true at first glance the holes to put in the screws with the pieces don't appear to line up if all you are doing is holding up the pieces to assemble, but then you realize that there is a reason for this once you are done. All you need to do is apply some reverse pressure to have the holes line up. The reason for the tight fit I realized after I was done is that is that is what makes this so sturdy once assembled. If the holes weren't a tight fit you'd end up with a wobbly product whose screws would gradually become loose over time and you wouldn't be happy with it if it did this. An example is an office chair - all the holes line up perfectly and easily to assemble, but in time you have to get the allen wrench out and tighten everything up again. Because the fit is so tight with the screws on this item, there is zero chance of these screws coming loose with movement or over time and having your rolling cart accidentally collapse. This item is rock solid once assembled and it's "because" of the tight fit of the pieces. In order to have the holes line up I just applied reverse pressure by putting the opposite side I was working with flat on the floor so that I could apply pressure on the side I was working on - it was simple once you did this. So no need to get out a hammer or bang it up to get it to fit like the 2 star reviewers did - just apply pressure by laying item flat as I mentioned and it will line up. I used a phillips screwdriver to push the screw thru the hole (it then has a nut on opposite side you'd twist onto the screw. Total assembly took about 20 minutes. There were 8 screws. I am going to buy another - this is a fantastic product and I highly recommend it. In my opinion, this item is worth every penny.

I purchased this model based on a review comment by another buyer who regretted not purchasing a unit with sides. So I forwent the cheaper $48 file cart for this one and I have no regrets, it is a smart looking unit, sturdy and durable. Unit assembled quickly and easily. Casters roll nicely. I bought letter size file folders which fit nicely lengthwise. I do not understand how legal size files or two rows of letter files would hang as shown in the pictures as no additional bar to adjust the file hanging size was provided. One regret is I didn't buy this unit with a lid, if I didn't have it assembled and I use I'd be tempted to return it for the unit with the lid. Assembled with casters the unit sits 25" high, with a lid it could be rolled out and used as a side table, work space. Dart!! totally recommend this unit with or without the lid.

this is a great product and is great for moving from work station to work station. Also tucks away under desks or tables when not in use

This product is as described. Once put together seems pretty solid and holds the files I need it to. Rolls perfectly fine on concrete as well.

Don't believe the naysayers. I was able to put it together in 10 minutes easily. Don't be lazy: Read the instructions - they tell you exactly what to do.
