It does, but it requires you to hold your phone in your hand and use your fingers. It does not receive texts though.

When it comes time to change the battery, can this be done at any jewelry store or, must it be sent back to INVICTA?

Any jewelry store can do it if it has the tools that will fit it. A watch and clock shop is the best place to take your watch outside of the manufacturer.

Does invicta make short watch bands

Bracelet can be adjusted. If you are looking for a strap, lots of maker are making them ( available on Amazon)
