New Look 6292 Size A Misses' Tunic or Top and Pull-On Pants Sewing Pattern, Multi-Colour

I'm not a beginner but haven't done any sewing for the last three years so thought I needed a refresher, it's easy to forget methods and what not. However, I needed some new casual summer trousers so when I saw this pattern for a good price I jumped at the chance to get out my machine again. I bought some Challis and have made a nice pair of trousers in a couple of days. I made a 16 and I am pleased with the fit overall. I probably will make one of blouses to go with them as I have some material bought ages ago sitting waiting to be used. Didn't have to adjust the pattern much only the length as I am 5ft 3in. Delivery by Minerva and Amazon was next day so very pleased with everything.

If your curvy you really need to alter this pattern too much I'm a size 20 and struggled with it. I have made the pants, I would use a stretchy fabric. The good things are good size options, not 33 inch leg, and not baggy on the arm. The crutch is narrow but the seem allowances is spot on.

I disliked the sleeve at the wrist so used elastic to finish at the wrist part otherwise it made a very comfortable blouse for dressing up or down.

Ive never made clothes before and thought I'd try so bought a sewing machine and this pattern. So easy to follow and fitted perfect to sizing on pattern, size 20. Top came out perfect, and made 7 now, bought another one as scared it becomes unavailable but it's surprisingly strong and it's still perfect to use my first even though pins have been in and out for 7 tops, I'm sure it will last year's of use.

The pattern is fine and is well-priced. However, it was dispatched by Amazon without an envelope, so a large address sticker was stuck to the pattern picture itself. A cost saving measure too far! Fortunately, I was able to peel this off with some care and effort, so I can see the picture now. I just have to deal with the sticky residue on the product now!

The end result is a bit skimpy so I would suggest going for a size or 2 bigger unless you like the figure hugging look.

This is an easy pattern to resize smaller as it is no longer available in smaller sizes. It's a great style with very few pieces for both the top and slacks, so after reading the pattern sheet, I feel confident in my skills to resize this easy sewing pattern to fit. Have switched from the 4 larger pattern brands to New Look due to their ability to fit patterns closer to what the real shape/size of normal modern-day women.
