A Wristwatch That Does Almost Everything Except Replace My Girlfriend
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 47mm LTE (2024) is an impressive piece of technology. As a gadget, it is genuinely awesome. That said, if you give it permission to know too much about what you do, where you go, when you sleep, and how you live, it will end up knowing more about you than your own mother. That is less a flaw of the device and more a reflection of how modern tech ecosystems work. For those a bit older, this is essentially what Detective Dick Tracy pretended to have decades ago, and then some. The difference is that back then it was comic book fiction. Today, it is a wristwatch you can buy off the shelf. From a capability standpoint, this thing is loaded. It handles calls, texts, emails, voice dictation, voice recording, alarms, timers, calendars, reminders, weather, payments, maps, GPS navigation, and emergency SOS on its own thanks to LTE. It continuously tracks heart rate, ECG, blood oxygen, skin temperature, sleep stages, stress levels, activity, workouts, recovery, Energy Score, and long term wellness trends, with AI driven insights if you allow them. It also includes a flashlight, compass, barometer, altimeter, camera remote, music player, fitness coach, safety monitor with fall detection, and location sharing. At this point, it quietly replaces or overlaps with: * A phone for basic calls and messages * A fitness tracker * A sleep monitor * A GPS unit * A hiking watch * A running watch * A cycling computer * A voice recorder * A flashlight * A wallet * A compass * A personal safety device * A reminder system * A basic navigation tool * And, depending on permissions, a very curious digital diary It is unfortunate that companies exploit the natural human tendency to overshare. Between legislation, marketing practices, and data driven business models, privacy is often treated as secondary to selling you something you probably do not need. All of that aside, purely as technology, this watch is impressive. The hardware is solid, the features are entertaining, and the health and wellness capabilities are genuinely powerful if used intentionally. Despite all of that, it still cannot replace my girlfriend... Yet! :-)) It is a remarkable piece of engineering. Just be deliberate about how much of yourself you trade for convenience.

Best watch ever
I got the 47mm Watch Ultra. I had a hard time spending so much on watch, but now that its on my wrist, I'm so glad I got it. This is the best watch I've ever had; better than I had expected. Everything works as advertised, plus lots of fuctions. The screen is so big, it's easier to use than other smart watches I've had. The battery is really strong; I use it a lot at work for 12 hours and still go home with at least 75%. It keeps a charge better than my phone does. The microphone and voice-to-text works great. It's loud at work and the mic on my old phone couldn't hear me but this watch hears every word, crystal clear. Connectivity is great; I've had no problems with Bluetooth or WiFi, but I don't use the 4G so I don't know about that. My last watch was 42mm and this is 47mm. It looks and feels huge, but with the trail band, this is the most comfortable watch I've ever had. It's the most customizable watch, too. I'm left handed, so I wear my watch on my right wrist. This is the 1st watch I've ever owned that I could invert, so the buttons are facing my hand. I can finally use my fingers for the buttons instead of using my thumb. I'll update with pics later.

Smart watch first, health tracker second
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is a premium smartwatch that truly shines, especially for those that want a full featured smart watch. Before this watch I purchased a Garmin Vivo and a Venu. They were both fine watches but they aren't truly smart watches, they are health trackers with some smart features. This watch is a smart watch first with health tracking as well, just not as good as the Garmins. PROS Durable and Stylish Design: The titanium build feels incredibly robust and ready to handle tough conditions, while still looking sleek and modern. The bright, crisp display is easy to read in any lighting. Smooth Performance: The watch is snappy and responsive, making navigation and app usage a breeze. Long-Lasting Battery: The battery life is a significant improvement over an iPhone watch for example. I found some tutorials online about optimizing the battery and I'm getting about 3.5 days on average. Useful Features: You can program some of the button to quick launch apps. I personally like to do this for the google assistant to set timers, reminders, or to get quick info about something. CONS Bulky: The watch is on the large side compared to a Garmin VivoSport for example. Lacking Health: The watch has something to be desired on the health tracking side. I ended up buying the Hevy app for my workouts. If your primary focus is for health, I would look at Garmins.

Perfect Gift for My Dad – He’s Loving the Automatic Health Check-Up Feature!
I recently gifted my dad the Galaxy Watch, and he’s absolutely thrilled with it! As someone who’s always been interested in staying healthy, he’s particularly impressed by the automatic health check-up feature. The watch tracks his heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and even monitors his stress, which gives him peace of mind and helps him stay on top of his health without having to constantly think about it. The watch is incredibly user-friendly, and my dad loves the sleek design. It’s not only practical but also stylish enough for daily wear. The battery life is impressive too—he can go for days without needing to charge it, which he really appreciates. Overall, it’s been a great gift, and my dad is more motivated than ever to stay active and healthy. The automatic health check-ups have made a real difference in his routine, and he now feels more in control of his wellness. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their health while enjoying a great smartwatch experience!

The SAMSUNG Galaxy Watch Ultra 47mm LTE AI Smartwatch is an exceptional device that combines durability, advanced technology, and AI-powered features for both everyday use and fitness tracking. Its bold 47mm case, bright AMOLED display, and waterproof design make it suitable for rugged environments, while the LTE connectivity allows for phone-free communication, making it perfect for outdoor activities. The AI-driven health monitoring system tracks heart rate, blood oxygen levels, stress, and sleep patterns, with an added body composition sensor for detailed fitness insights. With Samsung's advanced chipset, the watch offers smooth performance and up to 3 days of battery life. It excels in fitness tracking with precise metrics for running, swimming, hiking, and cycling, and its customization options via Tizen OS add versatility. Great watch
My first smart watch. I will say that everything I own is Samsung so I am bias but fair. I am 62 and wear glasses and was worried that I would not be able to read the watch well. That is not a issue but I have to pay a price. I have always on display on in bold and as bright as it can be. So what I suffer is battery life. I wear it from 7AM to 11pm and then charge it why I am sleeping. Charging time is slow. Watch is very lightweight. I thought that I would return this but heck no I am keeping it. I use the phone all the time on LTE. The only bad things are batter life and slow charging. Battery life will last longer if you don't have it set up like I do.

Ultra on Ultra
I know that I just got this thing today, and therefore will update as days etc goes by. I got this watch to pretty much match it up with my Galaxy S24 Ultra and of course for its accuracy as well as having the popular AI feature on my wrist as it is on my phone. This watch does have a ton of features as others have pointed out. One thing I want to touch bases on, all this talk about the battery not being all that great. Just like your phone, when you first get it, it's pretty much trying to learn your patterns of using the device and therefore setting the battery up based on these things. Another thing to note here is the updates.... You are going to see your battery looking lower than what you would want from it, this is all normal. Besides, it's basically looking out for the battery to ensure that you will have your device to enjoy much longer than you would had it not did all these things. Coming from the original Galaxy Watch classic and the Galaxy Watch 5 pro LTE, I can honestly say for myself that this one here is an upgrade. The health apps on this watch most definitely work better. The hard fall detection alone makes this watch a must have the way so many are getting sick this day and age. I see my purchase as a step in the right direction and a definite step towards the future. Love the digital bezel in knowing that I don't have to be worried that someday it could break, or start having a lot of problems. Like watch 5 pro, I wish this thing was bigger, as I am into the bigger watches, but even that is a step in the right direction. At least it's a little bigger than my 5 pro. Love live weather on this thing as well as the heart rate monitor. The display is also awesome. Love how easy it is to exchange bands on this watch, simply by pressing a button on each end of the watch. One thing I would love to see on this watch, and that's the Alexa app (hopefully Amazon is listening 😊). I guess they were listening before I even realized that they were, I feel like Michael Knight from Knight Rider now with the Alexa app being available for this device. Thanks a million for this Amazon. Being able to control my smart home devices from my wrist is super cool. I believe everyone is going to want this watch now that you can actually add the Alexa app on it. The sound is even awesome on this thing. Being as though it is a watch, I didn't expect too much from it sound wise, but it sounds very nice, Alexa is crystal clear with plenty of volume. I guess I'm not seeing in this device what others are seeing wrong with it, The only thing I do see missing (still) is the blood pressure monitor being activated in this device. I hear people say that no two devices are going to be wrong, with this said I guess the weather feature on this watch is spot on, because it's on point with my Echo Show devices as well as AccuWeather. "Update" 1-28-2025, After Samsung latest update to this device, the battery is indeed lasting much longer which is a huge plus. For anyone wanting to set Alexa to be used via the home button (after downloading and installing it), Download it through the play store on your watch. You will also need to download and install Google Assistant as well for this to work. Once both are installed, go to settings on your watch, followed by Apps and then "choose default apps", here you will select Amazon Alexa as your default digital assistant. Next you want to go to "Buttons and gestures", followed by press and hold and select Google Assistant instead of Bixby. Now you are able to use the home button for Alexa as you would have with Bixby. Just about a two second hold of the home button, and Alexa is activated with ease. Just remember to release the home button (Black and orange button at top of watch) once you see the blue Alexa activated ring and began your commands. Hope this helps you as it has me.

Great Watch and I love it.
Great watch. I have a complicated watch face with a lot of data, so it uses a lot of battery. It will last 2 days but if you go two days, it takes 2 hours to charge it, which is excessive. I charge every morning for about 1 hour instead. I charge my phone every day, which charges faster so why not. I have a back up Citizen watch, if I'm in a hurry and can't wait for the charge, but I usually have time to charge it every morning for 1 hour.
