AC Infinity Refillable Carbon Filter Kit 8” with Additional Refill, Odor Removal Air Scrubber For 8" Inline Fan and Ducting, Reusable Charcoal Filter for Grow Tent Grow Room Hydroponics

I got this refillable kit because other reviewers had said that the charcoal smells better. Plus you get a charcoal refill and scoop and funnel with it. I then mated this with the AC Infinity S8 Cloudline Duct Fan, and installed it inside one of the Model B Charcoal Edition HVAC filter frames, made by The 3DHandyman and available on Etsy. These are basically high end Corsi-Rosenthal HVAC filter frames, and I put four MERV13 20x30x1" Filtrete filters into this frame. I also taped down a 12x12x1" MERV13 filter on the top of this Model B, because this Charcoal canister does release a small amount of fine charcoal dust into the air. You can see the faint dark circle on the underside of this output filter, which is proof that this canister does release a small amount of charcoal dust. The charcoal dust may not be that important if you are using this in a grow house, but it is important to filter it out if you are using it inside a house and trying to completely remove particulate matter and smells in your indoor air. Reading all the reviews slamming this Carbon filter for getting clogged up with regular house dust and pet hair is ... I don't know, bewildering? Like duh, people, you need a PRE-FILTER around this charcoal canister so it doesn't get clogged up with the larger stuff floating in the air in your house. AC Infinity does sell a nice Pre-Filter cloth sleeve that fits very tightly around this canister that would work very well with catching the house dust and hair before it enters the canister, and this sleeve is a lot less expensive than getting one of these Model B box filter frames. However, the whole canister/duct fan breath and filter much better with the pleated MERV13 HVAC filters that the Model B frame surrounds it with. Plus you can also now easily filter out the fine charcoal dust that this canister puts out.

So far so good, will edit after 1st run done. Replaced a CANN150 with 2 of the refillable 8" well worth it, so only empty out old charcoal, & throw into compost, & refill old filter, just need make sure pack charcoal as good as possible, & need new pre-filter as well. But sure beats packing in/out a CANN150 each yr. Much easier on my back. Really like how come with a refill of charcoal as well!

Great refillable carbon filter. It's easy to use great fit and finish looks good.Seems well made. Also includes extra carbon to change out when the current one is used up.

Nice size good price and came preloaded with a refill. I will be getting more of these for the lounge.
