Versatile, comfortable, and reliable. Perfect even for work and casual gaming.
I’ve been using the SHOKZ OpenRun headphones every workday for the past ten months, mainly for business calls, and I can confidently say they’ve exceeded expectations. What initially drew me in was the open-ear design, which has changed how I work and move through the day. No more ear irritation, no discomfort from having something stuck in my ear for hours. A lightweight, secure fit that I often forget I’m even wearing. Despite their simplicity, they never slip out of place. The sound quality is solid, especially when you consider the bone conduction technology. It’s not meant for rich bass or ultra-precise clarity, so if you’re an audiophile or music producer, this might not be for you. But for calls, podcasts, or background music, it does the job very well. There’s a bit of sound leakage at higher volumes, but honestly, the vibration becomes uncomfortable at that point anyway. It naturally keeps you within a comfortable listening range. The mic has been perfectly reliable. I tend to double-check how I sound on calls, and the feedback has always been positive. It pairs effortlessly with Microsoft Teams and connects to both my laptop and phone. I've never had an issue switching between devices, which is something I can’t say for most Bluetooth gear. I haven’t tested it extensively in heavy weather, but in day-to-day use, even in busy or noisy environments, I’ve never struggled to hear or be heard. Over weekends, I’ve used it on runs and even for the occasional gaming session. I’m no competitive gamer, but for casual play like Skyrim: Oblivion, it performed surprisingly well with no noticeable lag. One unexpected bonus is being able to game or watch something on my computer while still hearing my kids if they call from their rooms: a huge win if you're a parent trying to balance things. Battery life has never been an issue. I’ve never drained it in a day, and although I’m not sure how long it takes to fully charge, the USB-C connection is solid and hassle-free. The headphones still look and function like new after months of use, though I do store them carefully in their soft pouch inside my laptop bag. They’ve held their shape well, but I wouldn’t toss them around carelessly. All in all, this is a quality product with a smart, no-fuss design that works across multiple aspects of daily life. It might not look like much, but if you need comfort, situational awareness, and dependable performance, this one’s a keeper.

Cool new gadget. Great for those who want to stay aware of their surrounding.
Very light. Great pairing any various devices. Sound is great but cannot be used in the loud environment. Great for running. Very comfortable to wear. Size is universal and back wire rests on your neck. Straightforward manual.

Great when ou want to be aware of your surroundings
I bought these for my wife, who develops ear infections when using earbud-style headphones. In spite of the fact that the speaker is not over your ear, they produce a great, clear sound (although they will never reach the quality of over-ear phones or good buds). They are comfortable and light. I have used them when I want to be aware of my surroundings and not be audibly isolated, and for that, they are superb. If I were a regular cyclist or runner, these would be my first choice. I would strongly recommend getting a case to keep them in, they would not survive long thrown into a backpack or bag!

Great for running and not being isolated from background noise
Great device - sound quality is good but a bit lacking in bass - which I expected. Great for running outdoors whilst maintaining situational awareness - also the same in the office. One niggle is they do not auto power off so you can accidently take them off and leave them in standby and they go flat after a few days. I would recommend them - see if you can get them on sale.

Exceptional kit
Very impressive bit of kit. First very light and fit easily. Thought they would fall off while running but no issues at all. Sound very good quality. Even when listening to rock I could hear everything around me. Charging very easy. Buttons bit fiddly but now got use to them. Made to wear even in the rain! But not tried that …

Excellent product. These work I promise
Brilliant! I’ve had these now for 3 months and use them at least 4 times a week in the gym for over an hour and only charge once a week through habit. Very good streriophonic sound. Loud even though they are not in your ears! Fab! Worth paying for these than the cheaper lookalikes

What a Difference!
I first tried the cheaper (£30-40) bone conduction phones, and was disappointed enough to send them back within an hour of receiving them. Poor fit, poor sound quality and altogether not worth the effort. My friend had told me about the Shokz models, but I was reluctant to spend that much money in the beginning. How glad I am that I did! These phones are excellent - perfect fit, so comfortable I forgot I was wearing them and they weren't even dislodged by quite violent head movements so great for those much younger and fitter than me who actually indulge in workouts, and excellent sound quality, albeit a little lacking in bass as one might expect. Even that can be fixed by wearing earplugs, but that kind of defeats the object I would say! I occasionally operate a telephone switchboard and I think these phones will be perfect for avoiding discomfort from continuous wearing for hours at a time - much better than the headset I used before. A little point my friend told me about - if worn correctly and you turn the volume up high they tickle your ears. Not at all unpleasant, just a bit weird! Conclusion - don't bother with the cheap ones. Go for the Shokz or just use ordinary headsets. Definitely worth the extra £100!

Good product
Very happy. Hubby struggles with ear pods so normally wears headphones but they get heavy. These are extremely lightweight and the sound is excellent

Used once during a 1h run. So far they do exactly what they are meant to do: audio ok - not the best, of corse, but perfect for my podcasts - good material, not too much tight - you forgot to wear them after a while - and they can be washed. Recommended
