Kids will love this exciting excavation of ancient Egyptian myths as they follow along with the clever Marcy on a quest to save her dad from the belly of the sphinx! Many years have passed since the tale of Arthur and the Golden Rope, and Arthur is now a world-famous adventurer. If only his daughter Marcy shared his enthusiasm for exploration... Determined to bring out Marcy's adventurous side, Arthur sets off to Egypt to bring back the legendary Book of Thoth. When Arthur doesn't return, Marcy must follow in his footsteps. Can she overcome her fears and rescue her father from the clutches of the great Sphinx? Review: Amazing art and a great story - This book goes a bit deeper than most children's story books into the feelings that parents and children inspire in each other. Specifically, the daughter is worried that her dad is disappointed in her. It turns out fine in the end, but it was deeper than I was expecting. The art, though, is fantastic. There's a section towards the end that's a cutaway of Marcy spelunking through a cave that I just adore. If you liked Hilda or mythology, you can't go wrong with these Brownstone books. Review: Amazing art and story - I love love love the illustration, masterfully made layouts and a captivating story. I am a 33-year-old woman who bought this for herself. You should as well, and check out the rest of the books from the same author.

Beautiful and fun.
Great book! We love Joe Todd Stanton, and have Arthur and the golden rope. This was just as good. Both have amazing artwork and adventure stories that are nice introductions to mythology and history. Really hoping for more from this series.

I didn't love this one quite as much as the first in the series, but I loved the first one A LOT! The first one is one of my son's favorite books. This one is more complicated and a little harder for him to understand, but I think he'll appreciate it more as he gets older. He's just four years old right now. The story has a good message, and the illustrations are beautiful. Can't wait for the next book!

Fun story
This is a really fun story, building of off The Golden Rope, this sequal introduces Egyptian God's really well. As a teacher, there are some excellent writing ideas you can take from the book, and Marcy is a great character. Also, just great to have on your home bookshelf, my daughter enjoys this story and its illustrations.
