Great quality: a heavy stainless-steel base paired with beautifully finished walnut that looks as good as it feels in the hand. Set-up was effortless: you could use it as is, but the adjustable collar clicks cleanly in 1 mm steps, so dialing in depth takes seconds and stays locked—no more guessing tamp height or dealing with sloppy threads. In daily use it’s transformed my espresso workflow. Grounds spread evenly with a few quick spins, the puck comes out perfectly level, and my shots run smoother with far less channeling. The 54 mm face mates flush with the Breville portafilter every time, so nothing spills over the edge. After a month of pulling 3-4 doubles a day, the finish still looks new and a quick brush off is all it needs—no no wobble, no material looseness. I’ve even dropped it and no damage at all, except to my floor so that’s some heavy material. This is a really nice distributor. Not only does it have a very nice weight and can easily be adjusted to match the depth of your portafilter basket but the stainless steel with walnut finish adds such an elegant look elevates my mood. It might even make my mind think the espresso is richer and creamier. A quick spin and the grounds are distributed so evenly that I have never gotten any channeling. The shape of the weight results in not losing any grounds and the none of the grounds stick to the distributor. Also, every time I looked at the bottom of my bottomless portafilter I can see an even flow of luscious crema and espresso. BTW I bought their tamper as well and equally loved it.

It has a nice quality, heavy feel to it. We were having issues with channeling after we changed to a bottomless portafilter on our Breville Express. This paired with the KNODOS tamper and countertop base has really helped. The countertop base allows us to easily store in the cabinet when done with our morning coffees.

It’s so much more heavy than you can imagine! It will outweight any coffee powder amount in the portafilter. Because it is relatively small compared to its massive weight that when you lift it feels like a 5Kg dumbbell. I like that, especially because I only pull 1-2 shots a day. It does accumulate some coffee around the iner ring where the stainless steel wave-shaped core screws into the outer body but I guess all distributors are like that unless it’s a fixed height entirely solid piece which I never came across. Edit: very nice to find out each half-turn adjusts the depth in exactly 1mm. One full turn = 2mm. This helps to make very precise changes to match your specific needs. Because of its heft (~1lbs) it will easily find its way down without needing to push. The last detail is the bottom surface design is so that it has more “pocketing” (a larger empty volume which stores the non-leveled grounds). A tamper has zero “pocketing” thus pressing the grounds without distributing them evenly around the puck upper surface. I think the more blades underneath, the closer to a tamper it becomes. This distributor has only two blades, thus performing better than a 3 or 4 blade design in my opinion.

New to the espresso scene but seems fair price for a versatile tool. Has a good weight to it and quality appearance. Adjustable height and fits perfectly in my 58mm portafilter

To adjust the depth by 2 mm I had to go to my workbench, install nut and lock nut, so as not to damage the threads and use a pipe wrench and use so much force that I feared breaking the pliers or threaded rod. The only reason for not returning it is the beautiful finish and the fact that I have now set the correct depth equal to the Sage/Breville razor. So forget about being able to adjust the depth setting manually.
