This is probably the keyboard you're looking for
I was looking for a keyboard to replace my dying Logitech G810. I wanted a high quality mechanical keyboard, with independent macro keys, per key RGB, and an assignable knob or volume roller if possible. I ordered this Keychron V6 Max, and the Logitech G915X to test, and keep the one I preferred I opened the Keychron first. It was so good, I didn't even open the G915X, I just sent it back unopened Most everything about this keyboard is great. It feels great, it sounds great. It feels solid and built with quality. The switches and keycaps are hot swappable and non-proprietary. It stores everything in the keyboard's memory, so no software is needed for operation, but the web app works fine for customization. Even the packing felt like I was opening an expensive, quality product. The only cons I would list are: - RGB is south facing, so you don't get much light on shine through keycaps - The web app for customization, Keychron Launcher, can be a little unintuitive. It's functional, but not as clear as it could be - With my Logitech G810, it would automatically switch to lighting profiles made for supported games. You won't get that here If one of those things is a dealbreaker for you, then know that going in. But if you can live with those things, and you're looking for the same things I was, then this is probably the keyboard you're looking for. I was really surprised how much I liked it

Crazy good!
I’m new to the mechanical keyboard world so I was very overwhelmed when I started looking at all the various options and trying to figure out the terminology as well as how the different switches feel and sound. This keyboard was for my wife who types a lot and really wanted a keyboard that was going to be closer to the experience of typing on an old school typewriter with heavier tactile key presses and the clack of the keys. She also wanted a keyboard that was full sized since that is what she is already so used to. The Keychron V6 Max with Gateron Banana Switches checked all the boxes, but I was still hesitant simply because I’ve always bought the simple and cheap keyboards like Logitech’s MK series which you get a keyboard AND a mouse for $30-50. Spending $120 on just a keyboard seemed downright outrageous. That is until I had this keyboard in my hands. Not only did it check all the required boxes, but once I got my hands on the keyboard it created new checkboxes that are now requirements for any keyboard that comes after. Pros: Insane build quality Incredible sound and feel Easy to customize Excellent web-based software Great connectivity options Fantastic battery life Bright backlight with lots of RGB customizations Extremely responsive Excellent value for the money Cons: Not buying this sooner I joke, but seriously I currently have no cons, fantastic product!

Good budget keyboard for gaming and typing (banana switches)
Background: This is only my second keyboard since I started gaming. My first was a Razer Black Widow, which lasted over eight years. When it finally needed to retire, I decided to try something new. Keychron came highly recommended by my friends, and I chose the V6 Max because I’m a sucker for a numpad and extra keys—especially useful when gaming. I picked the V6 Max specifically for its full-size layout. I love having the numpad and extra keys for added functionality. The color scheme is basic but clean, giving it a nice minimalist look. I prefer using a wired connection over Bluetooth, so I haven’t tested the wireless feature yet—but I’ll update this review if I do. I went with the Banana switches, and the feel is very different from the Razer Green switches I was used to. They’re lightly tactile and produce a somewhat hollow sound when pressed. I'm not entirely used to the feel or sound yet, but that’s likely just because this is only my second mechanical keyboard. Still, the typing experience is smooth and satisfying. If you like a lighter actuation force, Banana switches are a solid choice. If you want more versatility for both typing and gaming, the Brown switches might be a better option. The keys have a nice texture—smooth but with just enough friction to prevent accidental slips. Even though I’m still adjusting to the feel, my typing remains accurate and fairly fast. I usually type at 120 WPM, and with this keyboard, I average around 105–110 WPM. As for gaming, the keyboard performs well. I’ve had no issues with responsiveness or functionality. I do prefer a more clicky switch for gaming, but that’s just a personal preference—the Banana switches still hold up well. If you like a softer, hollow-sounding switch that’s not too loud or too quiet, I’d recommend giving these a try. The RGB backlighting is fully customizable via the web or through QMK/VIA. It’s a cool aesthetic feature, though the lighting doesn’t shine through the keycaps, so it doesn’t help much with visibility in low light. There are also plenty of other customization options, including keybinding, firmware updates, key testing, snap action, key bouncing, etc. TLDR: Overall I give it a solid 5 stars as it's a good bang for your bucks. You are given a nice minimalist design with fully customizable RGB and key mapping. The Banana Switches offer a smooth tactile feeling to it with a hollow a sound, which makes it satisfying to hear, but not too loud. I have not tested out it's Bluetooth functionality because I prefer wired over it, but I will update my review if I ever use it.

Almost perfect: lights do not shine through keycaps
Firstly, this keyboard looks, feels and sounds amazing. The brown switches are satisfying and the full-sized-ness fits most of my needs. I'm a power user and if I could I would use just the keyboard for all my needs. This keyboard comes pretty close. Gripes: 1. My biggest issue with this keyboard is that the backlight doesn't shine through the keys preventing me from using this keyboard at night. Oversight on such a pricey product. 2. Being a power user I am missing a button next to Right CTRL to do a right click. 3. Programming buttons is not as easy as they say. 4. The first time I got this keyboard the Mac/Win switch did not work which took me a good week to troubleshoot since I couldn't imagine it was a faulty switch (I know, my fault). Luckily Amazon remedied it replaced the keyboard with a working switch.

Extreme key chatter/double-clicking
I highly do not recommend this product. At first, it was a great keyboard; it had a great feel, I like the option for customizability with hot-swap, and overall is a decent keyboard. However, there is a consistent issue, that you will see many others mention, with regards to key chatter, double clicking, or similar. Within the first few weeks of purchasing the keyboard, I already began to have severe issues with many keys repeating mulitple presses one after another. I contacted support, and after a bit, they graciously provided me with a new keyboard. However; this new keyboard, perhaps a month after receiving it, also began to have the exact same issues, and continues to get worse. It doesn't seem to be a case of a few faulty keyboards in the bunch; it is a consistent issue with the manufacturing of the keyboard. I have no idea how this isn't a bigger issue, and much less how it has not yet been resolved. I highly do not recommend buying this keyboard for that reason, until it is clear the problem has been solved, which at this point, I do not have the confidence in Keychron to fix this, given that the second keyboard I received, had the exact same issue as my first.

Best keyboard I have ever owned
As a developer with over 40 years of experience, I rely on my Mac Mini Pro as my primary desktop but frequently remote into Windows PCs and occasionally IBM i terminal emulators. Switching between macOS and Windows keyboard layouts quickly and often is essential for my workflow. The Keychron V6 Max solved this perfectly—I programmed a simple key combo (Fn + Esc) to toggle between the two layouts effortlessly. I absolutely love the intuitive web-based interface for customizing the keyboard; no need to install any software, which keeps my setup clean. The build quality and keycap design are stunning—premium feel without compromise. The multifunctional knob for volume control and muting is a game-changer for daily use. I planned to stick with wired mode (which works great), but the wireless connection via 2.4 GHz has been rock-solid and reliable. Battery life is impressive, easily lasting weeks on a single charge. The brown switches provide that satisfying tactile feedback I crave, and the removable keycaps make deep cleaning a breeze when needed. I'd happily buy more Keychron products and recommend this keyboard to colleagues without hesitation. A fantastic all-around performer!

Best keyboard I've had
Best keyboard I've had hands down. No need for a fancy gaming keyboard when you have this Cadillac of a keyboard! Price is good and I changed out the keycaps which come off easily as well! Super customizable and it does have rgb lighting for immersion. Clicking is wonderful and not overbearing. Bluetooth, wireless and plugged in all work. Would buy again
