Simple to use, effective, lightweight carpet cleaner
Bought this Shark carpet cleaner in the 2024 Black Friday sales. Got it out to test it worked but never used it up until now, life just took over with one thing and another. Decided this week to get it out and give the carpets a good clean as they were looking grubby. Not disappointed at all by the performance of this cleaner not by the ease of use. It operates on 2 modes. Deep clean and dry only. Operation is simple. Push the power button and recline the handle and you're good to go in 'deep clean' mode. Press the mode button and switch to 'dry only' to get the carpet as dry as possible. You can see when the water stops being sucked up. Really easy. I used the hand tool a couple of times of stubborn stains. It's a case of unclip it from the cleaner, flip the paddle on the side to handle mode and it's a simple trigger spray and manual scrub or suction. Simple. Follow the opposite to continue using in carpet clean mode. Filling the water tank is simple too. Fill water to the line and top with solution. I've only used Sharks as they say using others voids the warranty but their solution is good and smells nice. Emptying the dirty tank is really simple. Easiky pops off the cleaner, pull of the lid and pour down the loo. Yuk but satisfying. Once finished I gave the whole cleaner a clean which was a simple rinse in the sink. The top of the section where the brush roller is pops off so you can clean and remove debris from it, gave it a wipe then a dry with some kitchen roll and it's now ready for the next clean. If I was to say there was a downside, it is the size of the tanks. They are pretty small and I found myself filling the water and emptying the dirty tank often though I did clean my lounger diner, game room / office and a very long l shaped hallway in one go. This was a small price to pay for the ease of use. It's so much lighter than other cleaners I've used and honestly felt like operating a Shark lift away hoover at times. There are now more advanced Shark cleaner models on the market since I bought this but if you're looking at this model I would highly recommend it. Will definitely stick with this brand now.

โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ Iโm really impressed with the Shark Expert Carpet Cleaner! Itโs powerful, easy to use, and leaves my carpets looking and smelling fresh every time. I wasnโt expecting such a big difference, but after just one use, I could actually see how much dirt it pulled out โ even from areas that didnโt look that bad! The suction is excellent, and it doesnโt leave the carpet overly wet like some other machines Iโve tried. It dries quickly, which is a huge plus. The cleaner is also surprisingly lightweight and easy to maneuver, even when full of water. The design is well thought out โ the tanks are simple to fill and empty, and the attachments make cleaning stairs and upholstery super convenient. I also love how easy it is to clean the machine itself afterward. The roller brushes and nozzles come off easily, so thereโs no buildup or lingering smell. It feels like a high-end appliance thatโs made to last, and the results are definitely professional-level for home use. If you have pets, kids, or just want to give your carpets a deep refresh, this is 100% worth it. Shark has done an amazing job โ itโs one of the best cleaning purchases Iโve made!

Fantastic Carpet Cleaner.
Amazing machine, quiet compared to other machines I've used in the past, easy to refill and empty , most parts come apart so it's easy to clean after use. Feels light to manoeuvre even when full of water/shampoo, the setting for vacuum only is brilliant for drying the carpets quicker also the handheld hose/Washer is perfect for corners and the stairs. I've done my hole house 8 rooms under 3 hours wet and drying . Im honestly I'm so impressed with the machine I can't even moan about the price as it's 100% worth it!

Satisfied
I bought this as I live in rented accommodation, and the carpets were ugly and probably needed a clean when I moved in, but at the time I was stressed and also stoned a lot. I'm no longer stoned, ever. Anyway - on the first use, I could see a notable difference and the state of the dirty water indicated the carpets were last cleaned in 1982. The ugly carpets I've gotten to are still ugly, but now they're clean and it's a big improvement. I also have an oriental area rug that had gotten a lot of dust in it, no regular vaccum or hand shampoo could really get rid of that. That carpet was pretty and now she's back to being a stunner. So, performance wise, I'm happy. Another pro is the "dry only" mode. You can really reduce your drying time, it works very well. Not too tricky to assemble - I do suggest actually looking at the instructions. (I did). Cons - the water and shampoo compartment is pretty small. This carpet cleaner works by spraying the cleaner/water mix on each forward pass and extracting only on the reverse pass, whilst a brush spins constantly. So, depending on how dirty the carpet is - how many forward passes you're doing, the liquid can run out quickly. In my case, I had to refill it after about 2-2.5 square metres of carpet. Similarly, the dirty water container requires emptying when it's about half full. I ended up bringing a bucket into the room to empty it into rather than multiple trips to the bathroom. Taking it apart to clean isn't too tricky, but there is one part that doesn't come away from the body and I find a lot of dirt accumulates there, which is a bit more hassle to clean up. It is noisy. The plus side there is my cats stayed out of the way. Don't use it late at night if you live in an apartment or your neighbours will not be happy. I found that the cleaning water went exactly where it was supposed to go. There were no leaks or anything like that either. For the price I paid, I think this is good value for money. I got it at about โฌ220. Final note - it's not in the instructions but I've read that it's actually important to follow up the washing with rinsing - putting only clean, warm water in the dispenser and doing some passes. Apparently, otherwise you're leaving shampoo on the carpet and this may end up *attracting dirt ". Either way, I did this and it was obvious it helped continue the cleaning, as the water extracted was still pretty manky. OK, I lied, one more final note - I don't find it too heavy, but it's not lightweight per se. I'm 59 without any serious physical issues. It's not too bulky either - I expected it to be worse tbh. I don't think any efficient deep cleaner is going to be small. I'm happy with the purchase.

You wont be disappointed
Always had vax before but after having to replace the vax on several occasions, decided to try the shark one. Omg it works an absolute dream you definitely wont be disappointed. The carpets came up so much cleaner than they ever did with the Vax. It is slightly heavier with pushing but for the quality job it does I can live with that. It truly is an amazing cleaner. Also it come with a big bottle of cleaning fluid, which is unusual as you normally only get a sample bottle size. Compact and great value for money. Attachments all fit on the cleaner and dont have to store them else where. It is definitely quieter than the vax ones and seems a good sturdy unit and also easy to clean after use.

Great machine
Wish I'd bought this years ago. It's lightweight and so easy to use. My carpets look and smell so much better. Really impressed by the "dry " mode, because it takes so much water back out. When you measure what went in against what comes out there is very little difference, which goes to show how little water is left in the carpets. The colour of the dirty water is embarrassing, but because its so easy to use I will be cleaning a lot more frequently. In the past I've rented rug doctors twice a year, and whilst they get the carpets clean they're so heavy it's exhausting. Buy one - you won't regret it!

Love this!
This was purchased after finding the Shark vacuum to be absolutely amazing and pulling dirt from the 40s from my under carpet floorboards, and with the carpet cleaner being on offer with ยฃ100 off, I had no choice really. My carpets in my rented accommodation are at least 20 years old, with the previous tenant never walking her 2 dogs. I've used a few carpet cleaners, Vax just made the carpets wet without leaning them, and I thought that my beast of a Bissell was doing a good job, it pulled up a lot of dirt, but then I tried this one. Half the size/bulk of my beast, though still pretty heavy to carry. First test was on my landing, some heavy traffic staining and coffee stains at the top of the stairs had been eyeing me for a while. With the beast, it would take between 2 and 3 hours. Sharky here did it in 40 minutes with a visible impression from the off. My carpet is 3 shades lighter in a fraction of the time. The detergent has a pleasant smell that lasted around 9 hours before nose-blindness kicked in. It seems to use less water, so the smaller water tanks wasn't an issue, though the dirty tank needed emptying halfway through. It pulls itself forward, taking half of the work out of it. I found that using deep clean mode to douse an area before switching to dry mode to go over it worked for me. Just remember to switch modes if you empty the tank in dry mode, it'll switch back to deep clean when yiu turn it back on. This has cut my carpet cleaning time by around 75%, and you can't argue with the results. The tanks are very easy to remove, even with arthritic hands, and a doddle to clean, especially when compared to the bag in bag type that I had previously. As it's half the size, it looks very sleek in comparison to the beast, and the sage green is actually a pleasant colour. Shark does other items in the same colour, which has kept my wife happy. If this machine lasts, then I'll be very happy. I'll update my review if it dies on me.
