I use this material around the house for many different projects. Some of it is "closing" a gap around our doggie door. Some of it acts as a "handle" on the dog gate in the garage. Some of it ends up as a rubber washer when I use screws that I do not wish to either damage the area or back out. Great product. Thousands of uses.

Provides a good seal. I used several rolls of this to keep water from seeping in around hatch covers on a boat. Hatches now stay dry. The adhesive under the peel and stick works well, provided you lightly sand and prepare the surface your sticking to. I appreciate the very thin thickness as it works well for things that are a tight fit.

My range hood is 1200cfm, when it runs it shakes the room. It is a kind of resonance. I purchase this tape and put it between range hood motor and range hood mounting plate, the result is very good. I want to buy a thin rubber in case I cannot install the motor back due to tight space between metal and metal, I purchased the 1/32" thick version, as other comments mentioned, it is almost 1/16" thick. 1/16" works fine in my scenario but may not work in your scenario. If you need thin 1/32" version, this is not what you want.

I used this product to provide “stickion” between two metal surfaces, one of which was painted and I wanted to protect the painted finish. I easily cut the material to shape and it worked as I intended.

Great item has many uses. Sticky backing. I used it to isolate a plywood sheet between an aluminum frame and plywood in my truck bed.

For some uses I'm sure this rubber is fine. However, do note a few things: 1. It smells like a new tire. This isn't so bad, just be aware it's pretty strong you will notice it. 2. It looks terrible. The surface of the rubber is all mottled and discolored. 3. It leaves behind a residue on anything that touches it. You can clean it, it won't matter. Having said that, it sticks well and is pretty durable. If you need this tape for something no one will ever see I think it may be fine. Note it's a very hard rubber without a lot of give to it so it won't be good for filling gaps. i think the best use is for two surfaces that either vibrate together or hit each other and a solid rubber damper would help reduce the noise.
