This RC car is a lot of fun. It looks awesome and is super speedy. The brake lights and blinkers actually work which is a neat feature. The plastic cover of the car is very thin, I was a bit concerned about the quality at first but it is actually quite durable and still looks nice. This car can go very fast and is best suited for wideopen spaces on a smooth surface. It works OK on carpet around my apartment but you can’t really go very fast before running out of space, or crashing. The instructions recommend using this on a smooth clean surface, it’s not made for dusty off-roading. If you have a good size slab of smooth concrete like a tennis court or basket ball court that is perfect. The batteries for the car are easy to charge and swap out. And the battery life is decent. The remote doesn’t look like much. It has a light cheap feel. The remote does not come with the 2AA batteries needed, you will need to buy those separately. There are included stickers but I can’t tell where they are supposed to go. The shape doesn’t seem to match up to the remote anywhere. Despite the look and feel of the remote it is quite easy to use and performs well. The wheel control on the remote turns all of the way left or right but works well. The throttle is actually variable, the more you squeeze trigger the faster you go. It’s pretty easy to figure out and gives you a decent amount of control. And of course, moving the trigger backwards lets you go in reverse. The little traffic cones are fun for setting those up and seeing if you can drive a little course. The drift wheels are smooth hard plastic without the rubber tires. They make the car ride quite a bit lower so you will want to make sure you have a smooth and flat enough surface. This is a fun little car to play with. It would be awesome if this was a set of two so you could race against each other. This would definitely make a great present. I recommend.
