The latch pin is slope the wrong way for many applications, can pin be rotated 180 degrees? Otherwise the latch would be on he inside of the cabinet!

I did rotate it 180 degrees. You have to tap the hole the sliding lever is on. It is not tapped through. I then put lock tite on the threads when I installed the lever

What is the spring tension like on these? Is the spring nice and firm or more loose?

These are great, work well. Good firm tension. I built a ten foot fence around part of my garden to keep deer out. I framed the doors with 2x4 and used these little buggers to keep it shut. Been out there for 9 months now, used almost daily still like new

Is the latch on this reversible?

Not sure what you mean. You could flip it over to mount on either side of door.
