Wonderful read Load of self love exercises

This is a really good book.

Gay Hendricks writes with great authority and in an easy to read style. I recommend all of his works. This book is a very practical approach to developing a better relationship with, and love for yourself. It involves visualisation, some partnerwork, and a real commitment to the process of self-discovery, self-awareness and self-fulfilment. If you can manage all of that, this is a very useful - maybe even life-changing - read.

Assumes you are familiar with the experience of love. Only a couple of sentences on how to bootstrap yourself up if you're not. So not much help to many of us. Instead try EFT and their phrase 'Even though I . . . I deeply and completely accept myself'.

Is it just me or are a lot of us just not taught how to love ourselves fully or care for ourselves when life gets tough? Kidding- I'm a professional social worker and know this is the case. I bought this book during a life reboot period and can say it's the best learning to love yourself workbook I've found yet. Dr. Hendrick's tools and methodologies are simple, easy to do and understand and so far have creating lasting positive change in my life. Highly recommended to increase your self care, self worth and self exploration.

Had to purchase another one because one of my clients never returned the other. The client that has it now is reading and re-reading it because it is so good and "dead on." This is wonderful for an individual low in self-esteem and who needs to learn to love themselves before they can offer anything to anyone else. Even has exercises in the chapters to make the reader think after a topic. Insightful.

I LOVED the book so much, I shared a page with my friend. She loved what I read to her that she wanted to get it. I purchased it for her birthday and now are both going through it again to anchor in and get feedback with each other. I've even had others comment on what I am doing differently. I tell them there is magic in that book and everyone should have a copy!
