The Complete Arthurian Tarot: Includes classic deck with revised and updated coursebook

If you know anyone interested in the legend of King Arthur this is a good gift. Illustrations on the cards are beautiful.

First brought these 20 years ago. Worn them out so needed a new set. Tried many sets over the years sporadically and these are the only set that ever stayed with me.

This deck is stunning. Some of the images are very unique, so that I cannot immediately recognise them as relating to their corresponding cards in other tarots such as the Rider-Waite and tarots based on it. And yet they are certainly a structured tarot. The images, like the Celtic myths and stories on which they are based, pull no punches, and so resonate powerfully through the unconscious to the very soul. I bought this deck to get to know the Arthurian legends a bit better, but I find that as part of the quest I am gaining more and more insight about the nature of the tarot, and of myself.

This is a great deck with beautiful art work and a great book . The reason I gave it 4 and not 5 stars is for card stock , feels very cheap! Plus I've only had the deck for a week and shuffled the cards a few times! but already the cards are chipping badly. It's seems such a pity that they didn't use better quality card .

I really like the spreads and the meanings of the cards. Based on the quest of the Holy Grail and Arthurian legend, so would recommend for anyone interested in the legends.

fantastic just what I wanted

I first bought this deck in the 1990s and It's still one of my most loved. The minor cards are all great for meditation as they could all tell a great story.

Sebbene mi piaccia collezionare mazzi di tarocchi definiti solitamente "mini", dato che non apprezzo le dimensioni a volte esagerate di questo tipo di carte, devo dire che l'Arthurian Tarot non poteva mancare nella mia collezione, anche se di dimensioni "normali". Il mazzo, come è facile intuire dal nome, si ispira alle saghe arturiane e nelle 78 carte ritroviamo tutti i personaggi delle leggende legate a Re Artù e alla sua corte, nonché alla mitologia celtica (di stampo bretone e gallese). Il tratto è delicato così come i colori, mai troppo forti, ma sempre in tinte pastello, contribuendo a creare quell'atmosfera indefinibile legata al mito, al mistero lontano, all'enigma: sicuramente è un mazzo che ha in sé la potenza evocativa dei mazzi di tarocchi che hanno fatto la storia, dai marsigliesi ai Rider-Waite. Unico neo è la fattura delle carte, che sembrano al tatto di un materiale non troppo resistente e forse troppo poco rigido. Nulla, però, che non si possa ovviare con bustine protettive della misura delle carte (si trovano anche su Amazon). Peccato anche – come per tutti i mazzi in cofanetto – che sia assente una custodia per i soli tarocchi, in modo da rendere semplice il trasporto, senza doversi portare dietro l'intera scatola con tanto di libro. Perché nessuno di pensa mai? Va bene che se ne possono comprare in tessuto, però includere già una custodia, in tessuto, cartone, latta che sia, sarebbe un tocco in più. Meraviglioso il libro, che guida alla scoperta dei significati delle carte attraverso un avvincente viaggio nel mondo di Artù e alla riscoperta delle radici mitologiche delle saghe arturiane. Al suo interno si trovano anche un sacco di schemi divinatori da usare con le carte. Nel volume si nota una certa qualità: carta piuttosto spessa, ricco di immagini, decorazioni e schemi, anche se spesso monocromatiche, ma forse è questo che sembra quasi renderlo un libro "d'altri tempi", se non fosse per la copertina "morbida" in cartoncino lucido. Nel complesso un buon acquisto, consigliato assolutamente a chi ama collezionare i tarocchi e a chi ama il mondo arturiano, sempre però ricordandosi di prendere qualche accorgimento (tipo le bustine protettive), ragion per cui ho scelto di dare 4 stelle. Visto comunque il prezzo al quale le ho acquistate, il rapporto qualità/prezzo è più che buono.

I live in Canada and I bought this from Kenny's Books in Ireland via Amazon. Not only did it ship in a timely manner (between the expected delivery dates), but it came in good condition. Kenny's had a fair price point versus other sellers, and after reading about the shop online I decided to go ahead and order from them - even if it meant a longer shipping time. I've wanted this set for some years, so I didn't mind waiting a little longer. Especially for this beautiful new purple edition. I've only had the set for a day now, but I'm devouring the book that comes with it. The Complete Arthurian Tarot is a must-have for lovers of all things Arthurian and Celtic, as it does go beyond the Arthurian mythos and touches upon Irish and Welsh mythology as well. The cards are beautiful and speak to me as well. The cardstock seems sturdy. I look forward to beginning the Hallowquest.
