Great entry level laptop
This was bought after quite some time researching my options. I was looking for an adequate beginners laptop, with moderate performance, decent screen quality on a 15.6" screen, good wifi connections, and overall ease of use for basic purposes. The processor seems to be more than adequate for basic computing, and light office work. With only 8GB of RAM my concern would be the overall lifespan as to the possibility of needing more in the future, and this being unupgradable due to it being soldered onto the main board. Storage is plenty, and with a USB-C port there is always the ability to backup to a portable SSD to free up space when needed. Overall I would recommend this laptop for anybody needing something to complete basic tasks like web browsing, email, and light office work with documents. In fact, this review was written on it, and I am pleasantly surprised at how my ability to type on a chicklet style keyboard has improved over the couple of months I've had it.

Great value for money
Works great! Good battery life, good screen quality, good speed, and all for a great price. I use it for internet browsing and occasional coding, and I usually get several hours of battery life. Less if I'm doing a video call. I'm very happy with this laptop.

Updated rating - ASUS Support came through
Updated 9-10-2024 ASUS support did something in the background and the next time I called the problem with sending an email to my att.net personal email account was fixed. I was able to get the laptop registered and the advertised 1 year accidental damage protection. Updated 8-27-2024. This laptop works fine for its specs but I am totally frustrated by ASUS support. I have been trying to register my laptop with my personal email which is a normal att.net email but for some reason the "verify email" doesn't work. I have been on the phone multiple times with ASUS support and opened they opened 4 separate tickets and each time they tell me they will escalate the issue but it is still not working. They know there is an issue blocking the email - they have told me - but they won't do anything about it and there is no way for them to manually register my laptop. With the laptop there was a card that said it included 1 year of accidental damage protection with registration but I can't get that because I can't register it through their website and they have no way to register it manually. Since I can't get a resolution to this issue after a month and hours on the phone I'm downgrading my review to 1 star. Original review 7/19/2024: Just a warning that the Ram is soldered to the motherboard and there are no expansion slots so you can’t add more unless you have technician level skills with soldering equipment. I opened it up to make sure because when I noticed the “LPDDR5” I realized it would be soldered in. It’s an elegant design that takes a wholistic approach to be as fast as it can be with the components it has and as cool as it can be while saving on power. It looks like it has 2 4gb ram chips so it can take advantage of the dual channel bump in speed. The display is actually 1920 x 1080 so that was a pleasant surprise. If you can get past your ocd about ram like I did and use it like a productivity laptop to do actual work it should be fine. I’ve barely turned it on but so far it has been pleasantly smooth. The build is a little plasticky but it is also very light so even that trade off works for me.

Didn't connect to the internet due to hardware problem
This is the first laptop/notebook that hasn't started up straight out of the box. I could power it up, but I could not connect to the internet. The computer wanted me to download a driver to access internet connections. I used my old notebook with the cracked screen to search the internet for solutions to this problem. We downloaded a driver ASUS said was the one for this machine, put it on a stick and downloaded it onto the machine, followed all the directions, and nothing. x4. I spent an hour online with ASUS tech support AI chat, they said it sounds like a hardware problem, said they would connect me with a live tech after i filled out the form which was a pay wall. Asus is receiving 0 stars for their support service. I took it to Office Max where they very kindly tried to download the drivers several times, and they said that it seemed like a hardware problem, and offered the solution of hardwiring it to the router, which is workiung great, except I'm tied to the length of the cord to the router. Office Max staff get 5 stars. I carefully read Amazon's return policy and that said I could return it if it was "dead on arrival," but that if their technicians determined that it was not "dead on arrival" they would charge me 15% of the price. I give Amazon 0 stars for that. I would have given this 0 stars, but it did turn on.

Works well for the price
I got this when my 4 yr old HP kept giving me fits. I hear people saying that this laptop is slow, yada, yada, yada. First, anyone who knows anything about computers knows Windows is a storage and power hog. They put a lot of unnecessary stuff that is guaranteed to bog down a computer. First thing we did was wipe the laptop and install Linux Mint. Linux is lighter and faster than Windows. So, speed has not been an issue for me. My hubby said this is the fastest and easiest he has ever gotten Linux installed and we have been using Linux for the better part of 20 years. The screen is bright and crystal clear. I am blind as a bat and this screen is easy to read without any glare. I have had it unplugged for 3 and a half hours now and the battery power is only down to the 50% mark. Your are getting a $350 laptop, not a $1500 gaming computer. This is great for anyone NOT using it for gaming. I use it for facebook, bills, tracking my mileage and of course, Amazon shopping. I love this laptop, especially at the price it is.

High-Performance, Versatile Laptop for Work and Daily Tasks
I needed a laptop that could handle a little bit of everything—work, casual streaming, and light gaming—and the ASUS Vivobook Go turned out to be the perfect choice. It’s fast, versatile, and strikes the perfect balance between something like a Chromebook and a high-end gaming laptop. I picked it up during a Cyber Monday deal, and I couldn’t be happier with the value it delivers for the price. Performance has been excellent so far. The AMD Ryzen 5 7520U processor and 8GB of RAM make this laptop responsive and reliable for everyday use. I’ve run multiple tabs, streamed videos, and even played some lighter games like Rocksmith 2014, and it’s handled everything without lagging or slowing down. It’s not a gaming powerhouse, but for what I need, it’s solid—responsive, consistent, and dependable. One thing I really appreciate is the privacy webcam cover. It’s practical and gives me peace of mind during video calls or meetings. The 15.6” screen is crisp and clear, making it a pleasure to use for both work and entertainment. Videos and documents look sharp, and the size is perfect for multitasking or just enjoying a good session. The integrated AMD Radeon Graphics also do a great job of keeping visuals smooth and consistent. Storage is another standout. The 512GB SSD gives me plenty of space for files, programs, and even a few games, and boot-up times are quick. Windows 11 Home feels intuitive and runs smoothly right out of the box, so setup was fast and hassle-free. The audio quality is pretty solid too. The ASUS SonicMaster speakers deliver clear, balanced sound, making it great for everyday tasks, music, and videos. As someone who’s spent a lot of time with tech, I can say this laptop is a winner. It’s well-built, reliable, and versatile enough to handle a bit of everything. If you’re looking for something that can balance business tasks, light gaming, and casual media consumption without breaking the bank, the Vivobook Go delivers exactly that. Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase. It does what I need it to do, looks great, and performs smoothly. ASUS nailed it here—this is a solid all-around laptop, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for value, performance, and practical features in one package!

Great laptop but with wrong description
Laptop was advertised to be with 16Gb RAM but it turned out to be only 8Gb. A great laptop but disappointed by the lower RAM.
