Best topical treatment out there!
I used this for my dog for years and never had any problems. It went out of stock for awhile so I had to use other medicines and I eventually circled back to this one bc no other flea meds work as good for my dogs as this one does. Best topical out there & so affordable!

Works
It’s been very effective on our two small dogs 18-12 pounds mix terrier/Chihuahua. No signs of fleas or ticks. No scratching. Happy dogs here. Have been using this brand for a couple of years now.

this product did not help with fleas and ticks
The first time I bought this product for my two small Chihuahuas I brought two 6 months, one box for each of my small dogs for 3 months. The first box worked very well the first three months on both dogs, I was impressed. When I opened the second box the tubs where all sucked in but I could squeeze out the medicine for the next 3 months but my dogs did not started showing any signs of relief from scratching fleas for the next 3 months from the second box of fleas medicine did not work. I stored this flea medicine in my desk in the house that has AC and Heat and could not understand why the second box all the tubs were sucked in and did not relieve my dogs from Asian. The next 6 month I reorder 2 more boxes 3 months on tub for each of my dogs the second time because the first order one box did work very well. Another note: before I put flea medicine on my dogs (who are not outside animals) I gave them both flea baths once a month each time. The next day I applied this product. I found this product again did not work my dog started again scratching the first month. The second order 2/ 6 months has not worked. I am now convinced this product does not work and my dogs had to suffer with fleas. Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice shame on you.

It’s okay.
It’s probably 3.5 stars. Decent price and decent performance. I suppose it might actually perform well for a lot of people. I don’t think there is anything wrong with choosing this product. I however will only use it in the winter/fall and only spring/summer for a backup. That is why I tried this to begin with; the regular topical solution we use kept being out of stock. It is a little stinky. No surprise, they all are. It actually might smell slightly less powerful than the usual one we use. The stink fades Seems fine. I found no ticks or fleas. I have used the product twice (2 months). I did however notice a couple times a little bug or two flying around the dog’s ears. At the time, I swatted them away and thought hmm maybe it isn’t as powerful… well lol my mistake. I actually just realized this product doesn’t advertise that it deters mosquitoes, so that was my fault. So yes I’ve seen him scratch a few times but nothing major and I never saw/found anything. I think the product does advertise what it claims. I take my dog on at least one adventure a week in fields, tall grass, or other stinky spots, so I thought best to stick with the stronger stuff for summer bug months. Dogs that aren’t as active, might be fine. My dog is a husky that is spoiled rotten with 3 walks a day. It is just as annoying to apply as any topical solution. Ease of application is fine, normal. Wear gloves I attached 2-3 photos. This product, Sentry or whatever, mentions preventing mites and lice. My usual product, Provecta(based on an animal eye specialists advice), doesn’t mention those actually. But it does prevent mosquito bites, and I do find value in that. They are out heavy this time of year driving me nuts. The photos show the active ingredients (minus “OTHER” on both! Notice this sentry has a lot of OTHER… Middle ingredient on Provecta I guess is for mosquitoes and bottom one supposedly is larvae. I didn’t see larvae mentioned on Sentry. Both the other ingredients are broad spectrum versions of insecticides. -fleas -ticks -mites -lice -doesn’t stop mosquitoes -doesn’t kill larvae? Not sure Review over If you need extra details on the specialist thing, here is a short version: Dog was having freaky symptoms in one eye. Ended up seeing an animal eye specialist that asked about his monthly heartworm stuff. (3rd picture is what was recommended). This Dr does not like dual plus heartworm/bug meds together, in general, but specifically for dogs that often get eye issues, genetic disorders, pure breed type things. So cocker spaniels for instance, are known to get thigh problems but also glocoma. Huskies like I have, also are known to develop genetic eye issues…. He told us to stop using a dual plus one in all pill. Always use topical for our case and heartworm separate. I’m not naming the product that caused this scary issue because it was extremely unusual symptoms and any other dual product could have caused similar issue with our dog. Sometimes unfortunately different medicines cause weird symptoms to certain people/animals and may not be common. We are only one of a few recorded cases of this eye issues occurring from a heartworm pill over years of studies. So it is rare. Just be cautious and talk to your vet. We just have to use a heartworm medicine that does not also contain the extra chemicals and have to always do separate topical. Was a huge deal at the time, but since switching, zero issues. Other than price. The vet stuff is expensive

Safe and reliable
I have been using Sentry Fiproguard in my dog rescue for many years and have never had an incident with it. It has not once failed to keep my fogs flea free, and I have had no medical issues with them from sing it. Just today I was talking with another rescuer who used another brand, a well known name, on one of her poodles and it had a seizure. The vet said that there was no doubt it was a reaction to the flea med. I'm grateful nothing like that has happened with the Sentry product. I've never had to waste out a dose because the ampule was badly made and the med leaked out. And I'm grateful for it's lower cost, I go through a lot of this stuff here!

Just as good as name brand
The ticks have been horrible in our area this year and this has done a great job keeping them from latching on to our boys
