Excellent item for Hospital Compression Knee Length Socks
What a marvellous item this is. I have just had a hernia operation so can’t bend about and was advised to wear these socks for 2-4 weeks. My wife was having terrible trouble getting the medical compression sock on due to arthritis in her fingers and shoulders. She would end up in terrible pain, the nurse made it look so easy getting them on ! Did a bit of research and found this item, arrived quickly and had to keep the compression socks for 2 days before it arrived. What a revelation in the ease and simplicity of use, we had my compression socks on first try in seconds, no more pain for my wife ! We got this model which has the longer handles which works very well. It is very well made and sturdy. We did contact our local nurse at our surgery who recommended a couple, on was over £100, so very glad we did our research before committing ourselves. For the money paid £25 this item is excellent value for money, so if you are having trouble getting compression socks on this item is fantastic value for money !

It works
I bought better compression socks as the NHS ones are too short and slip when walking. My compression socks are fairly difficult to fit onto the device as it's tricky to support the device whilst doing so. But this device does work. I agree once the sock is on and is placed on the floor, trying to fit your foot into the opening is tricky if you have limited flexibility in your back like I have. Like a lot of things you have to figure out a way that works for you. This device is sturdily made and works well for me....I like it and I am 82 and maybe like a lot of you say, "This will see me out".

Works well
This is actually very good and quite easy to use when I tried it, but my mum struggled a bit to get the stocking on to it. I think she would have been fine if she had tried again but she didn't like the feel of compression stockings so didn't want to keep trying. I found this was better than the slippery-slidey type aids - easier and did a better job, but it does look odd which can be off-putting for someone who already doesn't want to wear the stockings, but I do think it's good. I got my mum lower compression stockings in the end - she can put them on normally and they're better than nothing. For someone who is willing to try properly though, I would recommend this product.

Beautiful
Easy to use for normal hose or Grade 1 Compression socks. Takes a bit to roll Grade 2 Compression Socks on, but, once done it makes putting them on a lot easier. Recommended.

Practicality
Great idea but very hard to use following surgery.

Does what it says
Yes it not easy to get the sock on to the frame, but once on the frame and sorted, it is so very easy to get the sock on. I am 79 and have arthritis in my left hand which doesn't make it easy getting the sock on the frame, but once it's on correctly, to actually get the sock on the foot takes just seconds. I would definitely reccomend it to anyone

Don't bother with it
Very disappointing. First off the instructions are pretty much non existent and hard to follow. With much perseverance I could follow what was required but unless you have full and strong use of your hands it is impossible to use. I would even go as far as saying it could actually be a little dangerous as it slips and slides all over the place while you are trying to strong arm the sock on to it. It was returned for a refund.

Very easy to use - A Game Changer!
This was expensive enough but …. it really does the job! It is very sturdy and made of metal rather than some of the other brands that are plastic with ropes or fabric attached. I found it easy to roll the compression socks on to it and pull the frame up your leg to get the whole sock up to your knee. I found because the compression socks have a very high tension, it was easier to get the socks on the frame if you sit down, put the aid on your lap with the base pressed into your stomach, you can then pull the sock onto the frame much easier. I also make sure to have the sock stretched the full length of the frame with any excess of the sock ruched up at the top of the stocking - this means when you are putting the compression sock you don’t have any wrinkles in it which are very hard to get rid of by hand once on. Once the sock was on the frame, I got my first sock on in under 10 seconds - I’d never had done that without the aid! It’s been a game changer! I have only given it 4 stars as I needed it because I have had my hip replaced this week and am not allowed to bend down very far and even though I’m 5ft 6in I found I had to stretch down too far to grab the handles to pull it up my leg (so I have to use my grabber stick aid to hold it in place on the floor while I put my foot in it and also use the grabber to pull the frame up my leg until I can comfortably bend and grab the handle so even though the description says “Tall” it could do with being another 4-5 inches taller to suit post hip replacement users. If you have no problem with bending down the height as it is should be fine. This aid is a keeper - I’m going to hold on to it in the attic for the next time anyone in the family needs to put on compression socks!

Funciona
