Great Professional Case
Amazing case made by Fractal. Extremely high quality with no sharp edges and with very professional looks, will fit everything into it, including GPUs up to 413mm! It even has 2 USB-A and an USB-C port at the top. It also has great airflow, It comes with quiet 3 140mm fans that also are already plugged into the included fan hub in the back. There is also loads of space available in the back for cable management.

Beautiful premium case
The Fractal North XL completely changed the feel of my setup. I wanted something that looked clean and modern without the typical โgamer spaceshipโ look, and this was exactly it. The wood front panel and overall design make it look way more premium in person than in photos. Building in it was genuinely enjoyable. Thereโs loads of space to work with, cable management was easy, and airflow has been excellent even with high-end components installed. Everything feels really thought through. What surprised me most is how well it balances aesthetics and performance. Usually cases either look good or cool well, but this does both. My system stays cool and quiet, and the larger XL size gives plenty of room for future upgrades without feeling cramped. If you want a case that looks mature, expensive, and still performs properly, Iโd 100% recommend it. One of my favourite parts of the whole build.

Good looking case with great internals.
A year on since i bought this case and to my mind its near perfect. Iโve owned 4 Fractal Design cases and they are just great. This one is good looking. Plenty of room in the XL, well organised for cabling and documentation is great. Niggles; the top grill comes off too easily and the thumb screws are as good as they used to be, tight and can be completely removed. Ive got a large graphic card so using this bracket which is designed for the North XL to secure it , search โFractal Design North XL GPU bracketโ on Etsy.

A brilliant case
An amazing-looking PC case that is both aesthetically impressive and built to a high standard. The ports feel solid, cable routing is excellent, and airflow is great thanks to the included 140mm fans and mesh side panel. There is plenty of interior space, and all included extras were well packaged. Overall, the case combines excellent functionality, strong build quality, and clean design. I also recently purchased a second-hand Fractal AIO. After contacting the company, they sent me the missing AMD mounting bracket free of charge with fast and helpful customer service. Because of that experience, I will definitely continue buying from Fractal in the future.

Good case, loud fans.
Case is great overall, though included fans are LOUD, even at idle it's more than I'm used to but when they are fully active it's quite the jet engine. Will replace with quieter fans. The PSU + Harddrive enclosure is accessed from under the rear panel, I guess this makes it neater for people who like to show off their build but for me it's just an inconvenience, I would rather everything accessed from one side. For reasons I can't be sure to blame on the case, my PC doesn't wake from sleep properly since moving everything to the Fractal. The only new components in the setup are the case connecters for usb, sound and the switch. It does the thing of giving me the space I need in the case so I'm going to leave it at 5 stars as that's all I wanted.

Capable of great cooling and plenty of space, susceptible to dust buildup
Reviewing the mesh version: This case is capable of producing pretty great temperatures if configured correctly, but personally I am not sure if I would buy the mesh version of the case again. To get the best temperatures out of the mesh version, you will need to utilise the side fans. I found that having them provide fresh air to the GPU, with their speed linked to GPU or "system" temperatures provided the best cooling results. This may sound unusual, having the fans fight against GPU exhaust airflow, but it worked for me. For CPU cooling, I used the standard setup of fans bringing in air through the front, and exhausting air at the top and back of the case. Onto the main issue with this case. I have 5 intake fans, and 3 exhaust fans, 2 of those exhaust fans are at the top of the case and face heavy resistence. This is a strong positive airflow, meaning most air intake should go through fans and thus air filters. However, the inside of the case is quite dusty. Part of this may be due to the use of the side fans, which go through the case mesh rather than a proper filter. However, my front fans, and the AIO they are connected to are also dusty only after a few months, despite going through a filter. I really don't like having to clean my PC often, so this is a huge downside for me. In terms of front IO, it is good enough I think, with audio ports, 2 USB-A ports and 1 USB-C ports. I rarely need to use these though so you may feel differently. I couldn't find a Reset button, however. There is a light which signals whether the computer is on or not, it flashes when the computer is in suspend mode. The building space is pretty great. I had only a few issues building in this case. It has plenty of pass-through holes and enough space to work in. However getting the CPU power cables in was a tight squeeze, and my PSUs power cables were only just long enough. I also had to have my CPU AIO tubes at the top when front mounting, otherwise it wouldn't fit. Supposedly this configuration results in more noise, but I didn't notice anything substantial. FYI default GPU length clearance is 413mm, this is reduce if you use a front mounted radiator. The default GPU width clearance is 192mm, but this is reduced to 162mm when you use the side mounted fans and position them at the bottom. Note, the width is including PCIe cables! There is also a convenient fan splitter included but if you wish to connected a rear fan to it, be aware that the distance from that fan to the splitter is long, and the fan cable may struggle to reach it. In terms of cost, it is decent for its price, but competition in this price range is very strong. The GamersNexus youtube channel has a lot of good case reviews you can watch, with thermal tests, teardowns and recently, airflow diagrams. Overall I would say this a decent case but honestly, spare yourself the hassle and just get the tempered glass version.

Spacious, well built and stylish
Just completed an ATX build in this case. Fractal have probably the widest style options for self builders who aren't looking for a 'fishtank' solution. The North XL is large but not massive and solidly put together. Coming from mid tower cases of the past this is a real pleasure to work on with loads of space around the board. I have the mesh option and airflow through this case is fantastic (no pun intended). There are multiple mounting points and under low stress the onboard fans - coupled with those on the CPU cooler - make this build quieter than my previous water cooled PC. Note that at or close to idle, the case fans didn't register rpm on my motherboard (MSI Z790 Tomahawk Max) but did once the fan speed increased. This isn't a fault with the fan header. Looks are as expected and this is a stand out design that wouldn't look out of place in a corporate setting - a real wolf in sheeps clothing. It's expensive but not excesively so given features and performance (though a 4th fan - mounted as a rear exhaust - would have been a nice inclusion).

Excellent construction quality, very cleverly designed
All good. Excellent quality as expected from Fractal. Comes with belcro ties in certain positions for your cables. Comes with three fans that are already connected to one little board of which there is only one cable to worry about. Perfect for my needs.

Modern design, build quality, excellent airflow.
The Fractal Design North XL is a fantastic case with its sleek, modern design and impressive size. It offers plenty of space for high-end components, ensuring excellent airflow and ease of building. The build quality feels premium, with thoughtful touches like mesh panels for better ventilation. However, one downside is that the fans can be a bit noisy, especially under load. Despite this, itโs still a great value for the money, offering both aesthetics and functionality for those looking to build a powerful system in a spacious and stylish case. Highly recommended for anyone in need of a reliable, well-designed PC case.

Great Airflow With A Classy Look
As a computer building semi-enthusiast coming from a Midsize Lian-Li Tower, I was very excited to give this case a try. I needed more space and better airflow as I am currently running both a NVIDIA 4090 and an AMD 9950X3C with a 360mm AIO. The beauty of this case was that it supported both at least 360mm in the front but also the top of the case as I was looking to switch to the AIO to the top of the case which was impossible on my previous build. Very happy with my decision as this case design is gorgeous but also has outdone itself on the mesh paneling all around to allow for it to absolutely dump heat away from my components 10 degrees cooler on average and both my GPU and CPU. Additionally, as previously my non fan cooled components like my SSD and HDD are now running cooler as well given better in case temp and overall better airflow passing over each of those components.

Super case, top design, top airflow
It's just a top case, no discussions. Large, well built, extremely fancy design that makes it more like a high-level design furniture than a pc, blending perfectly in a a lot of environments where a normal gaming pc would just look bad. Extreme airflow possibilities, I have it under the desk with walls behind and to the right, so very challenging for fresh air. I used all noctua 140mm fans (no the stock ones from fractal): 3x140mm intake front with CPU AIO (Arctict Freeze Pro 3); 2x140mm intake on the side support bracket in the low position (towards the gpu), 1x140mm intake on the bottom; 2x140mm top, 1 exhaust + 1 intake (the closest to the front). AMD 9800X3D + MSI RTX 5080 Expert OC.... at full load stress test (100% cpu+100% gpu), no fan runs over 40% of max speed, no component over 60/65C, and basically no noise.
