Review: A mixed bag - Rancid varying the sound - A bit more of variety of musical styles on this Rancid album than might have been the case in the past. Arguably in fact the most varied they have come up with. It has some of their signature ska / punk influenced stuff ("Up To No Good" is a prime example, along with the excellent "This Place") & has the slower "Civilian Ways" at the other end of the scale. There are a couple of songs (like the aforementioned "Civilian Ways" & "The Bravest Kids") which touch on the Iraq & Afghanistan conflicts as well as some anti globalisation sentiment & expression of discontent & alienation with America (the marvellous "Disconnected"). For me,a couple of listens & I was hooked. It might not appeal to every Rancid fan but I like the mix on this record, some really driving, powerful stuff. A gem. Review: Very happy. - Very very happy with my order. Definitely recommend this seller.

Still going strong
Good to see RANCID haven't lost their edge over the years. The roots of Op IVY are still embedded within the album. Fookin Brilliant.

One of my favorites!
Can't go wrong with this album. Rancid's raw talent is shown on this. Third best in their catalogue in my opinion and definitely worth the purchase!

Bellissimo

London calling from NoCal
Dominoes is top to bottom great. I do not hear a weak song on it. It is certainly not as hard as Lets Go (one the the best punk releases ever). It has a lot of variety - on several songs the organ takes over for the gitarz. Still tons of energy and great tunes. A lot of Clash influence, some ska, some X feel to it. And a little cow punk to boot. And enough signature fast guitar driven punkers to satisfy. This Place, Last One to Die, I Aint Worried (reminds me of Guns of Brixton?), New Orleans, Skull City, LA River, Lulu (the standout?), Dominoes Fall, Liberty & Freedom, Locomotive, That's Just the Way It Is Now and The Highway all are initial standouts. But as I said earlier, there is not a bad track here; every song is in it's own way really great and a joy to listen to. Another reviewer mentioned smiling - yeah, smiles from start to finish. Who knows at this point what Punk is. It sure ain't Green Day (how can anyone call them punk?)! To my ears, this is as close to the spirit of earlier late 70's - 80's punk as you will find in the past couple years (excluding independents). Somewhere Joe Strummer has a *very* large smile on his face. 19 rock solid trax. And you get a great acoustic disc also - nice contrast. (have not watched the dvd yet...). A great release from a band that is still vital.
