Algebra Essentials Practice Workbook with Answers: Linear & Quadratic Equations, Cross Multiplying, and Systems of Equations: Improve Your Math Fluency Series: Volume 12 : McMullen Ph.D., Chris: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: A good book - Has a good level of difficulty providing a child some significant level of challenge, which once achieved, helps him stimulate the confidence in mathematics. My child who is still in primary school, has now started showing signs of confidence in maths and is able to solve some simple simultaneous equations using the substitution/elimination approach which this book teaches really well. I am so happy I got him this book and I believe his secondary maths studies will be fun. Addendum: Dec 2025 So I came back to add a few more words to my 8 year old review because I believe it is human (ubuntu) to share good things. This book did indeed lay down a solid foundation for my boy's maths. During his n'fives and highers, he went on to achieve grades that even surprised me. Review: Book - Hard

Perfect for algebra practice
As a parent I absolutely love this book. There are lots of exercises to help my 13 yo practicing his algebra. Would definitely recommend it if you child need more practice at home The solutions are great as they give you the answer only and not the work out, which means they can't cheat. Perfect for me

Great book but delivery system needs an overhaul
The book is good and perfect for my level of maths. However, without knocking the door it was simply left on the front step for anyone to steal. I know the man/woman didn't knock as we're all trapped in the house due to Covid 19.

Practice makes perfect
The number of exercise, starting with simpler ones first and with examples, help my two kids 10 & 12 to practice solving algerbra equations. The explanations are clear and with examples. The answers do not round to perfect integers, which is good practice for the kids to get used to handling fractions as answers and that not everything in maths rounds to perfect integers.

Workbook with answers! :D
This was easy for me to pick up and help decipher with my kids. Maths can be such fun, when it doesn't feel like a chore.

My kid is in 7th grade. This book really helps to drill basic algebra principles bit by bit and is easy to follow along and has made math go smoothly. What is with the schools not giving out textbooks anyways?! Other parents have reached out to me and asked, how is your kid keeping ahead of the confusion of learning algebra with remote learning? And I said, "This book. Here's the link. Buy it." Good feedback so far from other parents. The person who wrote it really knows his stuff, loves his stuff, and loves imparting knowledge so that you too can know the stuff! I feel like you can tell when you look at how someone organizes knowledge whether they know what it's like to learn it all over again. Like when your kid starts getting lost, they can go back a few pages and look again at what they've done and get back on track. It builds on itself instead of skipping. We do half a page every other day, but if you are behind, maybe half a page a day is good and help your kids get onto the level and then space it out as a supplemental learning tool. I wish I had this when I was learning it back in the day...

Good book for practicing algebra variables formulas. For each chapter, it has brief introduction and has lot of different scenarios of questions to resolve. Both of my 12 yrs old and 10 yrs old kids love it.
