Is the 19cm (7.5") depth at the base a rigid and fixed size. By that, I mean will the base of the bag collapse a little to fit into a drawer?

The bag is great quality. If you mean does the Base collapse a little with a monitor /TV inside I am not too sure but would think it would. Without the monitor / TV inside it does fold flat. So it may be OK for your purpose.

Suitable for a 23.8 inch monitor? I travel with work and often work in hotels. Is this suitable for transporting and protecting my screen?

Hi, The dimensions of the bag are as follows if you would like to check against your monitor: 24" (61cm) wide by 18" (45cm) high by 2.75" (7cm) deep which flares out to 7.5" (19cm) at the base. The bag is padded and has a hard plastic insert to protect the screen. Regards Andy
