how did i live without it!
this little device is one of the best home smart devices i have bought yet. i have placed it in my room and attached a automation with it so that i never have to turn the lights on or off in my room. i walk in and they turn on. five minutes later, they turn off. it is great! i would recommend if you are looking for motion detection automation. and the fact that it runs off of batteries and i havent replaced them yet. AWESOME!

Works for short distances
The media could not be loaded. The sensor was purchased to detect motion in the garage, including people and when the garage door opens / closes. At first I tested it at the back wall of the garage, 25 feet from the garage door and next to the door into the house. It detected a person coming out (about 3 feet away) but not the garage door. I found it had to be within about 3 feet of the garage door, so mounted it on the header above the door. That works well. It’s connected to Apple HomeKit. I changed the garage switch to a HomeKit compatible one, and now the garage lights come on when the garage door goes up, not just the light on the garage door opener. The video shows the smart switch for the garage lights, then shows where I mounted the sensor and how close you need to be to it for it to detect motion. It’s easy to tie the motion sensor to a smart switch in HomeKit.

Spotty Performance
I had high expectations for this motion detector after reading various online reviews. I was disappointed when I started to use it, that it is not as reactive as I would like it to be. I have it setup to use automations with Homekit to automatically turn a pantry light on and off. Sometimes the automations work, sometimes they do not. I have updated to the latest firmware, and performance is still spotty. It may be Apple's fault, as my Homekit hubs are my Apple TVs and they are some distance from the motion detector, but since it relies on Bluetooth and not wifi, it just seems to be unreliable. It also stops detecting motion and turns of the light at times when standing right in front of it and waving at it. I have another one setup to turn on a fan based on humidity, and I have less complaints for that purpose, but beware that if you want it turn on and off lights, it may not be as reactive as you would like.

This one is excellent
I bought the same one month ago and I had to return because motion detection was very bad. This one is excellent: quick detection and good range, Temperature and humidity values are very accurate. I already had one previous version SMSK-1 since 2019 and it still works good even in winter at -20c.I think this new one received today has been improved via firmware update.

More Accurate & So Easy
This motion sensor is a nice variation from the usual internet connected ones of the past. This motion sensor uses bluetooth and it works so much more accurately and consistently than our other ones ever did. Another great thing is that there isn't any remotes to keep track of. It works through an app on your phone which is very user friendly and also has the option of connecting to my iPhone Home app. The app is easy to set up and the device basically did the rest for me. It is absolutely amazing how accurate the humidity and temperature readings are also. The app is so straight forward on whether I want a notification for each thing or not. I can also set each of the three items up by time intervals and the app will show me a run down in graph from of each item for the day. It will also break them down and show me an entire day's average, etc. I am so happy, I am going to buy several more for other areas in my house. I looked at the app and it doesn't seem like it will be an issue to add other devices to it without any interuption or problem with my current sensor.

Doesn’t work well
I read reviews that these were great for motion detection. Unfortunately, they are not. They are GREAT humidity and temperature sensors, but not motion detectors - which I bought them for.

Logging doesn't work with current iPhone App
I bought this unit to log humidity data and turn on-and-off a dehumidifier at certain set points. I am running HomeKit so I used Eve to set the triggers and integrate the unit into HomeKit.I compared the Onvis sensor to two over temperature and humidity gauges. The Onvis Temperature sensor matches the other two, too within a degree or better. The Humidity sensor on the Onvis is 5-7 % too high compared to the other two, which agree to within 1%.My plan was to use the Onvis iPhone App to read out the logging. The Onvis App is rated at 1.9/5.0. One can read out the current temperature and humidity with no problem. The logging on the other hand reads 32 degrees for temperature and 0% humidity with no variation over time. Other users reported the same issue. I have the latest IOS on the phone. It appears the Onvis takes a reading every hour.As a dumb sensor that can be read over HomeKit, the Onvis works well. For the ability to log data and compare over time it doesn’t work.I returned the unit. The hardware is at a good price point.
