Can't say enough good things about this phone charger. It works exceptionally well at charging your phone while riding and displays your battery amps, which is a great plus. It was easy to install. We did take the extra time to hide the wires under the plastics and seat so they could not be seen or disturbed. We have them on all of our motorcycles. We like the on/off switch, but you must make sure and turn it off to keep from running the battery down.

So far so good after a couple weeks. I bought it to replace a different SAE to USB charger that was failing after several years of use and weather. What I like is that the voltmeter works better and looks more accurate, the previous would report large drops or increases in voltage as accessories were turned on and off. I like that it has a switch that can be set to be always on so it comes on as soon as the ignition is on as opposed to the one I replaced which had a soft power on button which had to be pressed during each engine start. The quality appears good overall and is working as expected.

I bought this to install it on my Vulcan 900 classic. Install took way longer than I expected - but that is not the fault of the product, it's was just user error and unfamiliarity with how to run the cable from the battery to the handle bar. No - I did not take off the tank. Once installed the bike started fine and the charger works fine. The bike makes a slightly different sound when starting but maybe that is because I have both the charger and tender cables connected to the battery now. I can see the red LED just fine under any lighting conditions. The constant amperage reader is great and the charger works perfect! I took away 1 star because it does not fit the handle bar immediately out of the box. It is too large. It comes with a long strip of sticky tape to put inside the handlebar grip, but using the whole thing makes the grip much too small. I had to guess a few times and cut the strip down to make the perfect fit. Each failure meant removing it from the grip so it lost some stickiness. Once it was perfect I cinched it down just right but the screw it comes with is just a little to short to fasten it. I ended up using a few small zip ties instead.

I've picked up a couple of these to add USB to a couple motorcycles. They work fine and provide a lot of power. They are reasonably easy to install. That said, the 12 volt pigtail designed to go on the battery is backwards. The positive terminal is attached to the exposed side of the plug. Any other one I've ever seen is the opposite, to ensure the positive won't be able to short on the frame. The product does include an adapter to change the polarity if an existing, properly wired pigtail is in place and the included pigtail does contain a fused link that will theoretically blow if a short occurs. Long story short, with the fused link it's probably safe. If it shorts the link should blow. In my instance I had good pigtails on the bike all ready and used the supplied adapter.

Easy to install works very well

This is a nice overall charger for a bike. I bought one for my bike and picked up one for a buddy of mine. It is quick to install and works well as I've used it multiple times without any issues.

Good product.

Only lasted a year. It quit working just before the year was up. Getting current to the switch & the switch was tested ok. It's never been wet or in the rain. Always garage kept.
