BLACK+DECKER Weed Wacker with Auto Feed, 14-Inch 2 in 1 String Trimmer Lawn Edger, Powerful 6.5-Amp Lightweight Electric Weed Eater (BESTA510)

I purchased this BLACK+DECKER weed wacker and have been very happy with it. It’s lightweight, easy to assemble, and powerful enough to handle the weeds and grass around my yard. The auto-feed line feature works well, so I don’t have to stop constantly to adjust the string. I also like that it easily converts from a trimmer to an edger, which helps give my lawn a clean look.

Very good edger and weed whacker.

This is my second Black+Decker Weed Wacker. The first one lasted me many years. I prefer electric over battery because the batteries don't have a good warranty and they just don't last long enough. With electric cord the weed wackers goes on until the string runs out. The weed wacker adjusts easily from edger to weed eater. The weight is minimal and you can work with the tool for a long time. I average two hours doing both front and back yards. Versatility to do ditch work is great. Edging works well but the string doesn't always release on its own and I have to stop and manually pull out the string. The old spools fit the new weed wacker so now I have twice as many spools. I recommend the electric weed wacker over the battery.

I’ve been using a gas powered weed wacker for two years. It requires constant maintenance, cleaning carb, air filter always clogging, oil changes every two months, getting fuel and the smell of gas in the shed. I bought this guy and I’ve been extremely impressed. It is powerful, light weight, cleaving is a breeze and the string changes out in about 30 seconds. I would definitely recommend this American made product.

First time use today. It's works great. The light weight makes it so much more maneuverable than my very heavy 15 year old Echo weed line trimmer with heavy 58V battery. The Echo 58V battery died and did not want to spend $220 for new Echo battery with probably old tech battery. Debated on $300 EGO 56V trimmer and this corded 120VAC Black and Decker weed line trimer for $52. Also purchase a 50 ft AWG14 extension cord. The combination is terrific. Again the light weight is a revelation for me. The 6.5 Amp motor is plenty powerful. The thinner .065 line works well cut everything that needed wacking. The auto line feed works well. The length of tool fits me perfectly - I'm 5-4 so it may not be so good for tall folks. I extended to its max length. I wrapped the extension cord a few loops around the trigger handle and had no issues with cord staying on. Highly recommended with one could deal with extension cord. I don't see an issue with reliability and longevity. The electric motor seem well spec and strong. Really not much to go wrong with it. And no battery to deal with. For my very small yard it works great.

I wanted something simple for trimming around the lawn without dealing with batteries running out or maintaining a gas trimmer. This BLACK+DECKER has been a good fit for that. The 6.5-amp motor has plenty of power for the normal grass and weeds I use it on, and I really like being able to switch over and use it as an edger along the driveway and sidewalks. The automatic feed is another feature I appreciate because stopping constantly to manually adjust the line gets annoying. You do have to manage an extension cord, but for me that's worth having consistent power the entire time I'm working. It's lightweight enough to move around the yard without wearing me out and does everything I need for normal residential lawn maintenance.

Does everything I need it to. I should have purchased some refills right away, but the original lasted a decent amount of time. I need to learn how to master the trim feature. Then I'll have no more gouges for my husband to snicker about.

Experience as of 8/1/24 Pros: ease of use, weight, power, price point. Cons: There is no way to get out of spending a fortune on string. Manufacturer defect why this is so cheap & discontinued. Shame on them. I've tried everything in my unknowledgeable unprofessional experience. Silicone spray lube does help & plastic core has to be in like new condition - not even slight wearing. I've bought hardcore string, still rolls out too fast & gets stuck a lot because motor can't handle & tends to heat up string which causes it to bind. I've tried removing auto feed lever & auto cutter, worse. Kept past 30 days & tinkering voids my warranty. If $ spent on buying exorbitant amounts of string is not a concern, everything else is perfect. I have an old B&D from the early 2000s still kicking grass. I just hate batteries. So I can either buy a new weed whacker or buy batteries. 3.75 stars Pros: Great power even with 200 ft cord (use proper cords). Works quickly & efficiently & powerful. The edger works outstanding. Used around chain fencing hard rocks & blacktop. Normal to high grass up to 12 in. adjustable Lightweight & easy to operate for a 62yo 5'2" female. Cons: using electric cord was a pain for me but once get used to it no matter. The string automatically feeds but extremely fast. I believe it has to do with where & what you're up against. Many many times I had to stop & adjust the string roll. I found if ur careful about inserting properly & hearing the click it works better but again if you're operating under more than moderate conditions it seems to stick more & you have to adjust. That seems to be a design flaw in manufacturers use of cheaper materials. The string it comes with is extremely short & runs out quickly. Based on other correct reviews I bought a B&D refill 3pack. Not the best either. I used all 3 rolls in 2.5 rounds of 1/4 acre back yard (hard conditions) & 1/8 acre front yard & blacktop edging. Better off buying bulk cheaper $ & restringing roll cores. I believe this also has to do with conditions of use and the B&D string is not any stronger than discount string. I purchased a bulk tougher string & will see if there's any difference in quantity usage. This is not the best but not the worst. There are hardly any corded options for weed eaters but I was determined to stay with corded option because batteries are so unreliable these days. Product still a good value for the price. Disclaimer only sporadically using battery weed eaters a few years.

Es un buen producto, tiene la fuerza necesaria para espacios pequeños y hierba no muy gruesa, trae un buen tramo de hilo, por lo que no te preocuparás por un par de meses. Por el precio y lo que ofrece es una excelente opción. Recuerda comprar también una extensión que sea compatible.

Tal como se promete, en efecto no trae para conectarse directo a la luz pero nada que no solucione una extensión a gusto para el tamaño de patio que se tenga.

Muy satisfecha con la compra, que hice para dejar de lado una de gasolina por pesada y dificultad en la alimentación del hilo. Llegó antes de lo indicado. Es Bonita, potente y efectiva. Solo que el hilo no le duró, se acabó en primer uso. Desconozco si llega con hilo más corto de lo normal o fue mi falta de práctica y por lo tanto, pulso en su uso. El diseño está muy bien, es agradable a la vista, pero...le falta botón de seguridad en el encendido, ya que lo hace nada más con el gatillo y lo accioné brevemente de manera accidental. Me sorprendió agradablemente su potencia, aunque su uso será más como bordeadora. Espero me dure mucho tiempo.

Me gusta que solo tenga 1 hilo. Así es más fácil de reponer el hilo, también la tapadera la mejoraron lo cual hace más fácil colocarla. La potencia del motor excelente!! Solo la he usado 1 vez durante 2 horas. Es importante en este tipo de productos darles tiempo de descanso cada 10 o 15 min dependiendo lo que la estés forzando.

Todo bien, utilizo por ratos, hasta el momento me ha funcionado perfectamente
