Works good at a better price
I chose to try these fuel tabs because they are the cheapest I found, costing 27 cent less than Esbit tabs. In an Esbit stove one tab was quick to light and burned for 13 minutes as opposed to 16 minutes for the Esbit tab. When used in a Kuvik solid fuel stove, which is a knockoff of the Expedition Research stove, the tablet burned 17 minutes as opposed to 18 minutes for the Esbit. In all of these tests I did not get two cups of water to a boil but it was hot enough for a cup of coffee. Of course, when actually cooking, you can add a second tab. The characteristic smell was there the moment I opened the package but doesn't bother me. Soot on the pot cleaned off easily and there was almost no residue in the stove. The box packages the tabs very neatly and I have not found any damaged tabs which was prevalent when I purchased Godora tabs. I will buy again to keep for emergencies.

Great little firestarter
These are great little fire starters. The only downside was for the money you just wish you got more because they don’t last very long. But besides that they’re great great to have for emergency purposes or out camping I would recommend.

Smelly as usual but cooks.
It's solid fuel. It stinks so ignore the claim it doesn't. Outside that, it boils water and cooks eggs.

Double the weight of Coughlans. Excellent fire starters.
One star removed because they do in fact smell fishy, but this is the reality of the mixture. The smell is not a bug, but it's not a feature I like either. It's mild, but distinct. Smell does not penetrate out of a glass jar, which is how I'm storing them. These are being used in place of lighter fluid (yuk) or paper (ash on your steak) to light charcoal for grilling. It does not leave a taste in charcoal like lighter fluid does. Burn time 13-15 minutes, which is enough to light damp charcoal kept inside the grill during a hurricane. FL charcoal is always damp-ish, but after days of rain it's enough to frustrate. Some of the pucks had pieces broken off, but it's common to shave them with a knife to ease lighting, so I don't see this as an issue. Other thoughts... Decades ago we did a lot of camping, and tried ALL the DIY such as as wax and sawdust (see WW2 fire pucks) but none compared to the (then) current GI issue Trioxane. Awesome stuff. Unfortunatley Trioxane has some problems of it's own, it's been phased out long ago, and is more of a collectors item than fungible accelerant. Among the replacements, there are "solid alcohol" tabs which work OK but burn out faster and need to remain sealed, Weber Fire Starter cubes are wax and melt away without adding enough heat to light anything, various brands of sawdust/wax, and these cubes which are the same ingredient as Esbit Brand. None of the melty types are ideal for charcoal (or folding stoves) due to charcoal's ability to absorb the wax, but without enough heat present to vaporize it into a flammable vapor. These cubes do not melt or fall apart like wax based recipes. They light more easily than wax/wood mixtures. If you'd like to research further, look into reviews of "Esbit Brand 14G fuel tabs" since these appear to be the same weight and compound. On youtube " Firestarter Burn Test: Tinder Products Versus Solid Fuel Tablets 5col Survival Supply B4syZsxu17o" has a very nice short comparing many brands. Happy cooking!

Great for an emergency
I bought a pocket solid fuel stove and these fuel tablets as a backup if needed in an emergency. I don't have any experience with any other tablets so keep that in mind. I was able to get one fired up with a lighter in no time. The tablet ultimately burned for about 15 minutes. It boiled 500 ml of water for a cup of coffee in less than 5 minutes. Definitely need to use in an area cleared of combustible materials as the flames at times fired out beyond the 6" cooking pan.

In the right conditions with the right pot these are great.
I like the idea of not having to carry a fuel canister and knowing exactly how much fuel you have left. However, it’s definitely not as powerful as the fuel canister stoves. Use a heat-transferring coil pot and these work well. Without the heat-transferring coil it did not boil but with the cool pot I boiled 2 3/4L pots with one fuel tab. It took a little while to light and in windy conditions I doubt you could get it lit or keep it lit. They DO smell fishy but you can store them in a freezer zip with a dryer sheet any that makes it un-offensive.

The price is right and they burn at least 10 minutes. Perfect for my Esbit stove. I also like it that they're individually wrapped.

These fuel tablets are great. They burn for a reasonably long period of time, just about enough to boil 500ml of water for a hot meal or coffee. Do keep in mind however that they smell like shrimp, and the place you store them in will also smell like shrimp. This is no complaint, just a natural effect of all tablets of a similar composition.

They work great. But very aweful smell. They come individually wrapped but the smell emanates through the plastic 😂 I put them in a Ziplock. However the smell is worse when burning which make me not want to eat what im cooking.
