Callipo Italian Canned Tuna in Olive Oil 2.8 Oz (Pack of 9)

Once you try this Italian tuna brand, you'll never go back to the others. It is worth buying, and the taste says it all!

It's delicious, and has lower mercury levels than some other tuna. I never really was a fan of canned tuna until my 84-year-old friend made me a sandwich with this and some olive paste. She's very picky about what she eats, only high-quality whole foods, hence why she's still independent and thriving at her age. Now I'm obsessed and always have a stash of these in my pantry. They just taste good and are high quality. I'd never buy any other tuna. It's not cheap, but I'd rather get the good stuff.

If you've been to an Italian deli recently, you'll know how much prices have shot up. I used to buy this at a couple different local delis around town, but the prices just got too expensive. Online, I tend to get a better price by anywhere from 10 to 30% as opposed to buying it at the store. If this company had packaged the tuna in larger cans, to save money, and carry that savings to the customer, I definitely would buy more of this. I feel like I need two cans to get a true snack. Maybe they can make a 8 oz, or at least a 6 oz size can, and pass those savings along to the consumers. The Taste is great, it's lean, and definitely a great source of protein.

I bought this after seeing the brand during a visit to Italy. I didn't pay attention to the size and didn't realize they're the tiny cans, so I ended up paying about twice as much as I thought since I need to eat 2 cans at a time. However, it might be worth it. It tastes SO good. Even though I mix it with mayo, onions, celery, salt, and spices as part of a tuna salad, the difference in quality vs other brands is very noticeable. Since it's expensive, it might not be the tuna I eat every time, but I'll always keep a few of these on hand for when I'm in the mood for a really delicious tuna salad.
