Great siphon pump, works as advertised
Works great for transferring fuel and other liquids. The copper valve feels solid and the 6ft hose is plenty long. Easy to use and works as described.

Handy device; Impact of hose flexibility impact greatly exaggerated
People are being dramatic about the crinkled hoses. This one does have a stiffer hose than a similar one I bought and the manufacturer should consider using more flexible hoses or packaging better. It did have a couple of crinkles in it when unwrapped from its packaging. However it's PLASTIC, a semi-flexible silicone like material. It bends and can be reshaped. It doesn't in any way prevent the siphon from working unless no attempt is made to unfurl the hose. You're supposed to straighten it out somewhat anyway, and make sure what you're trying to siphon sits higher than the transfer container. You do that, insert the raw end of the hose into the container, stick the copper shaker end into the liquid and shake straight up and down until liquid fills the tube... and you're done. As long as you have the minimal strength and mobility needed to do that, and ability to follow those basic directions, it's foolproof. The manufacturer doesn't include instructions, so understand going in that this is the minimum effort you need to make. For the price of this siphon compared to others, it works exactly the same. This one also has a hose clamp on it, which is unnecessary for most uses but would prevent any issues with expansion and contraction due to weather or certain types of liquid. You can take the clamp off and it will still work, though. You can also put the shaker on a more flexible, shorter or longer 1/2" hose from a hardware store, too. Those don't cost much if you want to use something a different hose. Anyway, at the time I bought this, it was significantly cheaper than other options but works exactly the same as the other one I have.

Not useful out of the box.
The item in theory should be fine but it’s packaged and wrapped in plastic up so tightly wound the hose kinks “pinched” in several different places. Rendering it useless out of the box. I tried heating it from the sun day but it really did not help it relax. Next I tried zip ties to force a round shape and goo going to let it sit for a while. My comments are not a reflection of a shipper or handling, this preparation must be addressed my the manufacturer for distribution to logistics.

These work great when transferring fuel from lawn equipment

Hose memory
Works as described, but the hose retains shipping coil. Needs to be heated in the sun or room temperature before you can stretch it out. Very frustrating
