Nice strong spring. Replaced a flimsy old one that broke. Much better and I have another in reserve. Good deal.

The springs do exactly what they are intended to do, I saw some weird 1 star reviews saying "it's to strong", or "it's too long". They are weird because that's you buying the wrong spring, not the springs themselves. I woiuld say that with enough pressure, you can break them, but it makes sense considering that they are not so thick, but again, it's built in. If you need something more resilient, get something thicker... I used them to shut my pet gate on its own, and they do a great job with that.

Works great for fitting inside coolant or vacuum hose in cars to prevent tight bends from collapsing flow.

The springs themselves will make you as happy as springs possibly can. However, I read the specs a few times and was disappointed not to find the spring constant and max load listed. Likely not terribly important if all you need them to do is close your cat door, but if you are trying to apply a little engineering horsepower to your design, that information is important. The answer is 6 lb per inch (6inch closed length, stretched to 8.5inches when I added 15lb of plate weights). For the cat door folk, that translates into only a minor concussion and vertebrae compression for Snuggles as she blows through the cat door at 9mph while running away from a squirrel. Enjoy the springs!

We couldn't find exactly what we needed. We were able to make these springs work. It was better than not having missing springs

The cord is durable and functions very well. I have not had any issues. Planning on buying another cord.
