Game On - Fab Entertainment love all the characters
Even though Mat changed in series two sadly as he was excellent the new one fitted in quickly and didnt spoil my viewing. Love dipping into this when there is nothing on the tv as it really cheers you up, its really wicked in its humour, devestatingly honest, and just hits the spot! The beautiful Samantha Womack is of course always a pleasure. Excellent value for money.

Fun, humorous and typical 90s laddish sitcom
Game On is your typical 1990s flat based sitcom with all the standard 90s jokes and themes you'd expect like inappropriate jokes and Brit Pop. It's in my view a little underrated and it is a shame they did not make more but the series is wrapped up nicely in the last episode. The writers could have easily gotten 5 or 6 strong series out of this but I believe the actors did well and went onto bigger things. It has a small similarity to Men Behaving Badly and as it's a flat based/friends sitcom is bound to have some comparison, but the characters are very different as well as the story lines. The only thing it shares is its mostly based in a single flat and deals with relationships and careers of a small group of friends. This is a sitcom about 20 somethings failing to achieve or move forward in the mid 90s.*Minor spoilers below*There are essentially three main characters:Matt: Matthew Malone owns the flat that the friends live in after buying it with inheritance money and friends Martin and Mandy rent rooms off him. He has recently developed an agoraphobic condition and does not leave the flat... EVER! He is very relying on Martin and Mandy to bring him shopping and uses TV as his main interaction with the outside world though he hates half of what he watches. He is a typical 90s brit pop loving laddish guy who is yet to advance past the age of 15 mentally. Matt is convinced he is the superior male and a catch, a lot of his jokes and humour come from him not actually leaving the flat but believing he is able do things like take on a heavy weight boxer or join the marines because he is street smart. He is convinced of his own physical attractiveness and his ability with girls means he is always giving Martin advice. Matt would actually be attractive to most women if he wasn't an immature idiot as he is a good looking guy. A lot of Matts humour comes from his playful bullying of ginger friend Martin and the fact he has met his match with the other friend Mandy who he would quite happily sleep with. The actor changed in series 2 and 3 who played Matt but I think the character remained strong played by both. I'd consider him the main character having a bit more screen time than Martin and Mandy.Martin: Martin Henderson is Matts childhood friend from school and though he is pushed around a lot by Matt they do have a genuine friendship. Martin is the typical average nice guy trying to please people but is obviously plain and simple in tastes. He is often taken advantage of by Matt with only Mandy as his main ally. Martin considers himself boring which is mostly true but he has a decent paying job and is just let down by his own self confidence more than anything. Most of his humour and jokes come from the fact he is a virgin, fails at meeting girls and he too often takes Matts advice on life. Martin has the most character development and develops into a bit of a cringey annoyance when he gets a girlfriend in series 2. He is always bullied into making tea for Matt.Mandy: Mandy Wilkins is slightly older than Matt and Martin, she is best friends with Martin's sister, she doesn't actually pay rent but gets away with living in the flat as Matt is convinced he may one sleep with her. She see's both Matt and Martin as little brothers who she cares for but both get on her nerves quite a lot. Most of the stories and humour with Mandy involve her bickering with Matt and the fact she cannot stop sleeping with random men. Mandy is in fact quite academically intelligent but due to her love of men and clothes she has found herself stuck in a secretarial position and always in her overdraft paying off credit cards.I love Game On as I said its underrated each episode has a different story but some themes and character development do carry on between each episode. Everything is so 1990s and pre internet era!

Comedy classic from the 90’s
Great series which ran from 1995 to 1998. First series starring Ben Chaplin was definitely the best, playing the character to perfection. When Ben left, Neil Stuke took over his role and it wasn’t quite the same. Very good series though, well worth buying.

Hilarious
All three series of Game on re hilarious. I know some couldnt get on with Neil Stuke but i found him almost as good as Ben Chaplin which is down to script writing. Just a shame the beeb never went anymore forward than S3 because the comedy had plenty of life left in it.So where do i begin? Three housemates. One is a sex mad woman who always picks the wrong bloke. One is an agoraphobic who lives his life in a fantasy world (in his head). Other is a sexually repressed office worker who longs for a woman...any woman.Indulge your dreams-your 90's dreams and buy this masterpiece!

Tea Mart!
Game On was a guilty pleasure I had when I was a young teen, the show was funny yet serious at times, especially the content it was involved with. Martin Henson is a dreamer, obsessed with women and getting on in life; a lot of people think he's boring. Matt Malone is a agoraphobic, who's not left the house in years, he's loud, brash and fancies himself. Mandy Wilkins is a dizzy blonde who seems to sleep with everyone, which annoys Matt as he wants to sleep with her. Some of the best moments in the show usually involve Matt being stupid, like his marines equipment, and his listening to The Manic Street Preachers at 5am to wake everyone up.This isn't a bad show, OK it's not ground breaking, but it's funny and light hearted. The fact the show had a change in lead role didn't bother me, Ben Chaplin was funnier but Neil Stuke had whole package for me. Tracy Keating who played Claire was also excellent in this. A lot of people say that Samantha Janus (Womack) made the big time here and that's how she scored her role in Eastenders, but I feel sometimes she really was flat in the show, and her lines really revived her. This DVD isn't very good, the picture is a bit fuzzy at times - but the sound is perfect. There are no extras which is a shame, but at least we got all 18 episodes on here on 3 DVD disks.Well worth a look

Great characters. Great storylines.
I bought this set for my son who is in his mid 20's and we watched it together on holiday. He related to the characters straight away and absolutely loved the whole series. Even the change of lead actor playing Matthew didn't spoil the fun. Both actors are great in the part.

Tangerine Candy floss and Herne Bay Rock
Yes it's rude. And yes very often it's crude. Such programmes can so easily be got wrong if they rely on coarse humour for cheap laughs, but Game On hits on so many real life situations and conversations to which many people will relate. So many brilliant quotes, more often than not offensive put-downs from Matt, who was portrayed brilliantly by both Ben Chaplin (S1) and Neil Stuke (S2&3). Watching Matt's imagination go wild as he desperately tries to keep himself entertained in an empty flat all day is hilarious, but the classic moment for me is Martin and Matt's reaction after Matt shoots the TV!

Bof bof!
Très bon souvenir de la série mais un peu déçu quand même de ce DVD puisque pas de sous-titrage en français. Très compliqué pour moi de suivre.
