This book is pretty great. Itโs filled with actionable advice that every teacher should have access too. Iโve yet to implement everything in the book but I have started class meetings.

Discipline is Guidance and Ought to Lead to Learning
Every single teacher and administrator should read this book and then learn and implement all the guidelines: all students would experience school in far better ways and would learn far more effectively. Positive discipline itself makes sense, offers the kind of guidance students~ and adults~ need, and is both wise and effective. Read Nelson's book about positive discipline at home and then learn and practice it within the family as well.

A Work in Progress
I have not completed this book, so I can't honestly evaluate it at this time. However, I found the first two chapters to be informative and interesting reading. R. Carraway

Great explanation of life skills!
This book outlined the importance of including kids of all ages in the decision making process and finding solutions to problems. Allowing kids to be active in the process facilitates greater learning and understanding. I am excited to implement clad meetings and agendas. We could all use more positivity in our lives.

Accentuate the positive.
This book was a breath of fresh air. In my experience of teaching for over 2 decades, it's much better to accentuate the positive. We all respond better to criticism, when our dignity has been preserved. It's a 5 star book on a very important topic. Bravo!

Must read for educators
Must read for any teacher who wants to spend more time teaching rather than managing their classroom. This book gives teachers, school administrators and child care professionals the tools that will help them transform the way they work with students to create a more respectful, supportive, and collaborative classroom environment.

Eye-opening
Great book! I get the sense you really need to 'buy in' to the approach 100% to get the best results, and with school-wide policies that can be tricky as a classroom teacher. However, there were lots of great ideas and lightbulb moments when I realise so much of my behaviour impacts the response of the students. I have already seen results from small changes in how I phrase things, less micro managing and reducing 'carrot and stick' approaches. Definitely worth a read!

Brought the joy back
This entire series changes how you think about guiding children. It has practical strategies to understand the unhelpful choices a child is making and offers ways to set up your classroom and children for success. It focuses on empathy and understanding and teaching self regulation and shows you how to teach children how to make helpful choices. This book brought joy back into my teaching because it allowed me to care for and enjoy my students, while still effectively helping them learn, and want to learn. I highly recommend this book.
