Nice, old school style Casio watch!
Nice watch for the price! It looks a lot like the old school G-Shock that I had in the 1990's. Of course it is not built like a tank like the G-Shock was. However it is a very nice everyday watch with plenty of useful functions. It even comes with a 10 year battery! Bonus! I bought the "Used, Like New" option for a VERY discounted price and it still came in the original packaging with the instruction booklet. Go ahead. Get one. You know you want to.

I love it
I need a watch has analog display (easy for me to read) and digital function (need the alarm and the countdown) also shows the day-date (the day has to be 3 digits e.g. Sunday is "sun" instead of "su"). I know I am very demanding, but it is just me, LOL. Have bought this watch for a couple of days. Yes, it fits all my needs. Pro: 1) Light weight, fair value materials, price is low and quality is fair. The glass is just a piece of plastic which is how I felt, but I put a packing clear tape on it and cut the edge off as my home made scratch protection. 2) There are 4 push buttons, except the center one for light, the other 3 seemed like are metal with rough surface which generate enough friction to hold and push it down. 3) It has Telememo, World Time, Snooze, two daily alarms, Count Down, hourly signal, and Stop watch functions. 4) 10 years battery which is better than solar battery (if solar battery never die), or it will be more expensive to replace a solar. 5) Casio always uses 4 screws to secure the back plate, much easier to replace the battery than other brands. 6) It has a smaller case (44 mm) with a larger LED display. Neutral: 1) Telememo, I don't know who needs this, because smart phones can do much more. Also, I try not to buy a watch with Waveceptor, smart phone can always pick up the correct time right after the airplane touch down. However, Waveceptor can auto reset the watch, but the problem is if it can receive the signal? and for how long? I still prefer the old school way to manually adjust. Con: 1) There is no pull out button to set up the analog, and this watch can only go forward. For example, if analog is 2 min faster, then I have to forward the hand for 11 hours and 58 min to correct it, that is a lot of pain, even you can hold both C & D to have the hand auto advance. Or, it only need to go backward for 2 min. 2) It can show two time zones time, but the digital day-date only matches with the digital time. One can not set the day-date to match with the analog. Overall, I love this watch, and there is a metal version "AMW830D-2AV".

5 in looks, 4 at nighttime
I really like this watch so far. I had been looking at the same watch in different colors but when it became available in tan I thought I would pull the trigger. HOW I USE IT: I'm an avid hiker and walker. I want something that's visible, durable, and kind of outdoors-fun. I also enjoy using the digital features. LIKES: The looks are great, the watch has a nice physical and visual texture to it with the bumpy case features and the large minute markers and 12-hour marker. The hands look great too. The band is extremely comfortable. 10 year battery is a big plus, and I have another 10-year battery watch from 9 years ago that is still going strong. The digital features are awesome, considering that you get world time AND tele-memo capabilities AND a timer AND five alarms, along with the normal digital timekeeping calendar and stopwatch features. I sometimes use tele-memo to help me track things, like how many calories I've eaten, how much water I've consumed. You can use shorthand: Drop the vowels frm th wrds. When your brain is a bit slow after hiking up a long incline it can be helpful to have the information you need at a glance. I also use the World Time as I'm a shortwave radio & ham radio hobbyist and I need UTC time for that. "What time should I tune in?" "Oh, the website only lists the time in UTC," or "Oh, we'll be at the summit at 12 noon UTC-1 here, what time is that over there?" Doing that in my head is not fun. So I like this feature. Despite the dark format, the digital screen is easy to read in daylight assuming your eyesight is good enough to for normal reading tasks. I also like the BIG light button. It's easy to press. Finally, I ordered this and was concerned that there might be only an olive-green color. I think it was an editing mistake by the manufacturer. I received the tan watch and it's a bit lighter-colored in the outdoors than my photo shows. DISLIKES: The light button blocks the digital display a bit, so you have to tilt the watch just a little bit further toward you to read the digital display. I think you can see this in the attached photo. There is no second hand, which some might find annoying. The SIZE is not as big as the photo makes it look. If you like something that's not huge, maybe this is your watch. But the trend lately is toward near-gigantic watches, so if you have something like that you might feel like this one is puny in comparison. Still, I find that it's big enough for me and it stands out even more if you wear something like a dark paracord bracelet. BIG NOTE: Nighttime. If you need to use the DIGITAL FEATURES at night, you may not like this watch very much. You will need a flashlight because the backlight consists of two reddish lights at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock on the analog dial. THERE IS NO BACKLIGHT FOR THE DIGITAL FACE. I think they do that because they'd rather you buy a G for any of these little nit-picky reasons. In real life, I will almost always have a flashlight at hand. And I have an Amazfit on my other hand, because the extra measurements are nice to have. So personally, it just doesn't matter to me. I can read the hands at night and that's good enough 99% of the time. Even my radios have little flashlights on them so I doubt I'll ever have a problem here. OVERALL: The price point is great and it's really a very good watch. I don't regret buying it. I'm still looking through the manual and learning things. If you are a night-hiker or camper and need to read more than just the time, maybe give it a second thought. But other than that I can highly recommend this watch. 4 stars, with one star deducted for nighttime use.

I love this watch even though it has some really big flaws.
I love this watch even though there are some major problems. The quality of the crystal is really clear. I love the way the dial looks. It is very easy to read analog hands. It has a lot of lume on the hands so reading the time at night is not a problem even without the illumination. The indices do not glow as bright but can be easily seen when you hit the light button. I like the colors on the dial as well. I do find the digital dispay to be small and obstructed by the light button. The digital display is also unreadable when you look straight on. It just appears black until you look at it at an angle. The worst part is that the light does not even illuminate the digital display. It is not a deal breaker for me as I don't play on using the digital functions when it is dark. Honestly, I probably am not going to be using the other functions other than time. Setting the analog time is annoying as you have to hold the button and wait until you get to the respective time and it only moves forward. Overall nice looking watch that seems well built. If you use the digital functions a lot this is probably not the watch for you.

Arrived perfect. On time. ๐ The watch is nice. Looks good. Band is ok. Not the most comfurtable. I can wear it lose. Now I've had a few with this style of digital setup , I think would be the best way, I can describe it. Meaning no crown to turn. U have to use the buttons to set the hands. Not the easiest concept. It takes some getting use to. My first experience I read the instructions a few times. Then eventually got it. Keep trying don't get frustrated, it's a pain but you'll get it. If u wear glasses put them on. I did. ๐ I can't explain it , because I still refer back to the instructions. Even with this model I read it again. Ok so this watch was purchased for work. I need something that can take a beating. Now that being said. So far its holding up fine. I work in construction, so it needs to withstand all the season's, plus everyday hammering , carrying wood , chalkline powder, sweat , frequently washing hands & worst of all concrete. I build foundations for houses. Good in all departments so far. I find it easy to read. The hands that is , digital part not so much. But in daylight I can read it , which I have set to the calendar setting. ๐ Twist my wrist. In the dark or at night u can forget the digital time. Not even the light feature works for the digital time. Very small window. Strong glasses sure. ( maybe ) ๐ It lights up the hands no problem & even without my glasses I can tell the time. Which for me is the most important thing anyway. The digital was just something that comes with it. And during the day when at work I can see the month & day in the window without my glasses. Just twist my wrist a bit. Plus I can read the time without glasses, I can see the hands no problem. That's also the reason I decided on this watch , easy read design. 5โญ๏ธ analog time. I have had a few this yr already. I tend to buy them when on sale. Paying $100s for a work watch isn't the smartest thing. This one had the most important features & has a cover to protect the buttons & the face of the watch from scratches. #1 - easy read analog hands. ( light ) #2 - month & date setting. #3 - tough outer protection. #4 - Alarms. All other features are just a bonus that come with the watch & not really necessary. Still trying to figure some of those out. It's a good brand of watch. I've had a few. Only one other is still alive & well. The watch is perfect still & has worked perfectly. Basic style , analog / date. The metal bracelet dug into my wrist awhile ago while picking up a form panel , nothing happened, I just set it down & adjusted my arm again. But it got me thinking that if anything ever grabbed the watch or snagged it , my hand could be damaged or worse. So I decided on these types of watch bands. If ever needed I can cut it off with my pocket knife , stainless steel I can not. This is mixed now. I have one already. I've test 2 others. There done & gone. Broke them within a few months. Return time had expired. Also it's not the manufacturer fault. I abuse them & they break. Normal I think for how I treat them , considering wht I do for a living. Not many can survive those conditions on the regular. I Casio watches. Great brand , cool designs. But timex is the only brand I've had that lasted 3 or 4yrs of regular wear & survive a beating like I get it. This timex I'm talking about I got at Walmart for $40 ๐จ๐ฆ , great purchase. I've since seen that model advertised, it's almost $100 ๐จ๐ฆ. Not nice Eh. Lol. Will see if this Casio model can do the same as the timex did. I'll revise if I break it somehow.
