Removed carpeting in my basement so this is a must have for me. This has good flex and stays in place well. Good protection against air and bugs from outside.

Installed this very quickly. Can’t see anything wrong with it to warrant paying the increased price of the brand name alternative. I guess we’ll see how longevity is but I see no reason why it wouldn’t last as long as the name brand.

I've been meaning to fix up the insulation around my Bilco door for a long time (I'm ashamed to say this, but it's been years I've been meaning to get around to it!). I have a pretty old door and admitedly, I knew that a simple kit like this wasn't going to fully insulate the door, but I was really pleased with the amount of coverage this kit gave me. As you can see in the first two images, our old insulation was peeling away and I had a pretty sizeable gap to close. After installing this kit (it took me close to an hour, but I had a lot of cleanup to do and some uneven edges that I needed to bend back into shape), I was surprised with how much smaller the gap was. I did still have a bit of daylight to close, but this kit on first install got me most of the way there. I actually ended up using the remaining scraps (after cutting to size, I had a few feet left over) to make more headway to closing the gap. I also had another roll of insulation that I added into the mix to finall get the gap ALMOST fully closed in. Again, this is a really old door so I didn't expect one kit to do the job, but this was an affordable solution for me, and easy to install. Only thing that was annoying was the instructions were printed black and white on a seemingly poor printer, so the images were almost impossible to decipher. Luckily this is not a very complicated job, so wasn't a huge issue.
