Best Trash Bags for 8 gallon trashcans
I absolutely love these. They perfectly fit my 8 gallon trash can, are compostable, and are tick. I cannot see the trash within them. They have sturdy draw string handles, have never leaked and are easy to tear at the perforations. They fell extra thick and I have recommended them to my family and friends. Great value too.

Sharp decline in quality over the last 6 months
We’ve been using these trash bags since September of 2024. For the first year we used them, we LOVED them. They were sturdy & we had zero complaints. However over the last 6 months (September 2025-current) we’ve noticed a sharp decline in the quality of this product. Yes, these are compostable bags and therefore, there is a learning curve on what you can put in them, their weight limits, if things get wet, etc. However our complaint is not related to any of these concerns - our chief complaint is the fact that the more recent batches have been noticeably thinner/more flimsy. I’m not exaggerating when I say every time I’ve gone to remove a bag from the box, I’ve had at least two bags rip clean in half. This is without exerting any significant force in separating the bags. In the past, the perforation between the bags was precise enough to ensure a clean separation between bags. Just three days ago I went through FOUR bags trying to get one usable bag. Similarly, we utilize the drawstring option of these bags. The drawstring hasn’t worked for months & again, this is not when our bags are abnormally heavy. I’m talking when I go to pull the lip of the bag from around the bin, and attempt the initial pull of the drawstring to close the top of the bag. The drawstring comes right out. When we first began noticing these issues, we wondered if our subscribe and save simply contained a box of bags than had been sitting in storage too long (obviously a compostable bag has a shorter shelf life). But three boxes in with these issues, we are convinced this is a production issue, not an isolated incident. Finally, the price of these bags has significantly increased over the last six months. Yes, I’m aware of the rising costs of everything, but if I’m paying 50% more now for a product that works less than 50% of the time I’m using it, that’s infuriating. I will be canceling my subscribe and save and looking elsewhere for compostable trash bags. I would encourage you to do the same.

Drawstring keeps breaking, lame
I really like these trash bags but my last order appears to be a damage. The drawstring keeps breaking on every bag and it feels like a rip off for a $20 box. For a premium price, I expect a premium product. If the next box has the same issue I'll seek out a different brand.

Better than bad, ain't good
I think I was spoiled with my first batch of bags that aren't sold anymore. They were think and strong. If I had a leak I knew it wad coming because I had waited waaay too long to take out the compost. Then I switched to super thin ones that could barely do more than a day. These can handle 2-3 days. At 4-5 expect to rinse out the can and be in danger of gnats due to the lovely soup at the bottom. Maybe it's just encouragement to bring water out to the compost pile since the garbage can has to be rinsed. In sure that's part of the design right?

Sturdy. Holds a lot. Is not plastic.
I participate on the composting program in my county. Instead of dumping my food waste directly into the bin, these bags work perfectly, making for a cleaner weekly process. I have the small ones for my kitchen bin, and the larger ones to hold the small bags plus weekly loose food waste products. I wanted a true biodegradable bag. No plastic. This is it!

Absolute sCRAP
These are the worst. The first box we bought was amazing! Held everything, and just as durable as plastic. However, every single box we've gotten since has been utterly horrible in a variety of ways. The sides rip extremely easily, or the handles complete fail as you're taking even the lightest bag out of the bin, or it essentially disintegrates in every way possible. Absolutely NOT a good alternative bin bag. You end up needing 3 bags for one load of rubbish. One star only because I can't go lower.

Quality drop- nearly unusable now
These used to be the best available, but now theyre functionally made of tissue paper. Hard to get it to the back yard before it dissolves entirely, spilling your trash all over. These need to be thicker by double, as this makes them almost impossible to use with the constant ripping. Very poor value at this time.

Sides tear easily, very short break down time.
The product is not bad and it does last longer than the description on the box. I even left a bag outside in the rain and elements for a week or two and it seemed fine. However, since the life of them is so short, I would like it if I could purchase them in smaller amounts, Or perhaps smaller bags. I don’t produce enough trash to fill up one of these large bags. I didn’t buy them to put compostables, but so they would biodegrade when I put my normal trash in it.
