Tiny fuzz face, sounds like a big fuzz face. What’s not to like? Great little pedal!
Sounds great and very convenient. The smaller size, LED, battery access and 9v Jack are great improvements over a standard fuzz face. It behaves like an original fuzz face; all the great qualities as well as the quirks. Great little pedal, solidly built, stable on the ground despite its size and so well worth the price.

Versatile pedal, but by modern standards unconventional
Fuzz pedals get a reputation for being one trick ponies, but I don't think that's the case here. With the volume in your guitar you can dial in everything from nearly clean, to incredibly expressive compressed bluesy overdrive to all out doom fuzz. There's a lot of gain on tap here. At full whack it's similar to a big muff but with some more mids. You can honestly can big fat rhythm which can get you to Dinosaur JR territory of even a bit Pumpkins - which I wasn't expecting. I have a Rams head and op amp muff for those tones, but this will get you 90% there with some EQ. As Hendrix and others proved, it's fantastic with a wah too. One caveat, it can be a bit fussy with amps and pedal order, so try out a few combinations before you write it off as shrill. It seems to like a nice neutral clean channel, but that's just my experience. I preferred this from the germanium as it has more gain and just sounded better to me. The only downside is the price. It is expensive for a circuit that's been around for 50 years! But then it's the real deal and very well built. For £60-£70 I'd give it five stars. Oh, and if you're running off batteries. Some 9vs are actually slightly fatter than others, and you'll struggle to get the fat ones in! The battery compartment is very snug.
