UGREEN USB C to Ethernet Adapter 2.5G, Ethernet Adapter Aluminum for Laptop

I bought this UGREEN USB-C to Ethernet adapter to get a more stable wired connection, and it does exactly what it promises. Plugged it straight into my USB-C port and it was instantly recognised — no drivers, no setup.I’m able to fully utilise my 1 Gbps broadband with consistent speeds and zero dropouts. This usb c to ethernet adapter works exactly as advertised, I have used quite a few other brands and have found this to be one of the best so far, it works on the samsung a55 no problems the a55 max out at slower speeds around 350mbs but higher end devices will see your full speed, you will achieve full speed on devices with compatible usb c ports, such as higher end phones and tablets, laptops, it worked perfectly on a family members oneplus tablet and samsung tablet, full up and down speeds as advertised and minimal battery drain which great as other devices from other brands would drain the device even when not in use, and use up more power when doing the same thing which wasn't good at all, this works with a usb A adapter (also ugreen branded) which I had handy, no issues with a windows pc, build quality is excellent nice design. Usb c port fits well not too tight and not too loose. No heat issues after many hours of use and zero drop out or loss of connection so far, would have liked the cable to have been slightly longer but its flexibility makes up for it, a Usb A in adapter included would have also been nice addition to the package but I would still highly recommend this adapter and ugreen devices as they have yet to fail me to date. Just remember the faster the port the faster your speeds will go, some devices will max out at 350mbs others will give you the full 2400mbps with a decent quality ethernet cable of course. Ugreen does a slower speed model if thats all you need but for a few pounds more I would grab this if you can for the long term.

It's a usb to ethernet adapter - plug one end into a computer, stuff a network cable in the other end, and enjoy fast connection. Obviously, the network will run at the speed of the worst component, so if you've got a poor cable or a slow router, it won't help, but if you've got 2.5G switches and router, this will let you connect at the full speed. It didn't need a driver for any computer I own, didn't appear to get particularly hot, and just worked out of the box. Having an adapter hanging out the side of a computer is less appealing that just having a network cable plugged into a built in port, but that's more on the computer than the adapter.

Good value 2.5GB network adapter for when you board supports lower.Works at advertised speeds easily transferring 280-290MB a second on my systems (about 2.37Gbps) even on my older pc's with an added USB C cardEasy to plug in - no drivers to set it up for me on windows, easy to throw in a bag for portability - its tiny, nice cable.

I have to state here that I am not incentivised by uGreen in any way, but am a big fan of their competetivey priced well made products. This was bought to easily connect a laptop to a 2.5Gb wired network after a similar looking dongle just wouldn't work in windows. Plugged in - recognised immediately and working at full speed - plus as always with all the many other uGreen products I have used it feels well made and likely to last and was very reasonably priced. Couldn't really ask for more.

I have 4 of these adapters. They are one of the best options in delivering close to advertised speeds. However Ive come to realize that they have a very finite lifespan. If your computer is on and active on the network the 2.5 speeds and the heat it created degrades the PHY. For UGreen this time is 14-18 months (data from 3 unit failures) after which your speed will drop, packet loss starts accumulating and cannot connect at higher than 1gbps. 2.5 gets warm if your actually utilizing 2.5 speeds it can get hot. This dries out thermal pads, further heating up the PHY and at some point the degradation impacts performance. High CRC errors, packet loss, latency impact.Unplug it let it sit for 2-3 min plug it back in and it will connect at 2.5gbps. 10-30min later it will drop down to 1gbps and ~7% packets loss. The packet loss and tcp re-transmission also means you dont even have the 1gbps throughput. Its not a cable issue not a router port issue.BUT Ugreen support is great (hence 4 starts instead of 2) and they replaced one already but 1.5 year lifespan is just annoying.

Easy to connect, good connection speed on full fibre. Great for new thin laptops without Lan connector. Would recommend

plug and play it is true with window 11 if the laptop have the built-in drive for this adaptor. if not you can download the software from realtek.it is working on usb4-c port of the laptop.i use a lan cable cat 8. i decide to put the wi fi off on the laptop to have a better speed on my other wi fi devices. i am very satisfy for this adaptor. extra info. it is working if your laptop have a built-in compatibility with this adapter. to check that,you go to window settings under network and internet.after you plug in the adapter to the laptop on the port of usb type c and a lan cable to the router. you can click on properties of ethernet on window settings. if you see realtek usb 2.5 gbe family controler,your laptop is compatible. if not you go on line directly to realtek site and download that software by choosing window 11. my laptop have a usb4 type c but a port of usb 3.2 gen 2 type c must working also. about the lan cable plug on this adapter work better with cat 8 but cat 7 or 6 probably work also. my router have a 10 ge lan port. it is where i plug the lan cable from the adaptor. if you using a 1 ge lan port,can influance the speed of your internet. another important factor about the speed of internet is the plan you have. i have a internet plan of 2 gigs. the result of speed is 2170 mbps for download and 216 mbps for upload. i have not try to do aggregation on my router because this speed is an off for me. because i have other wi fi devices on my network i decide to put the wi fi off on my laptop to increase the speed on this other devices. if you have more question ask copilot in window. this ai know a lot.

El adaptador se ve genial, acabado en metal, bien construido, velocidad altísima de 2.5Gbps, el último chipset de Realtek para LAN... es una maravilla. Es compatible con Android, y no hace falta instalar nada, es plug and play. En Windows sí que hay que instalar los drivers de la página del fabricante, o también Windows Update los busca solo (no sé si la última versión). Funciona fenomenal, aunque claro está, para disfrutar de estas velocidades hay que conectarlo a un USB 3.0 o superior (lo digo especialmente por Android, que es muy común tener un móvil con USB 2.0).El precio es un pelín elevado, pero bueno, es un producto de calidad, es justo. Lo podrían haber hecho Plug and Play para Windows también, no sé si es posible.
