Do Not Try to Wallpaper Without It!
I bought this level to help me install wallpaper. It took a bit of practice, but once I understood how to use it, it was very simple and extremely helpful. The level has an adjustable clamp which allows you to mount it on almost anything (I’ve mounted it on a wooden stair railing, a step ladder, etc.). If the red lines don’t show on the wall, it’s because you don’t have the level *ahem* level. If the lines don’t show, it’s not broken, it’s user error. The lines are clear and crisp and allowed me to get a perfectly plumb line every time. The wallpaper I installed has a very intricate pattern, so matching the seams had to be flawless. By using this level, every seam was flawless, even the 12-foot long wall!

Ok for the price
This works ok for the price. But you need either a tripod or something to set it in as its not adjustable at all. And ince you try to tilt it too far up it won't level itself any more.

Well-made, quality laser level
This laser level is outstanding, portability, works great, always level…. this tool gets used the most in my toolbox. The battery life is outstanding. The brightness is good and the accuracy is correct. I’ve checked it with my other levels and it’s always right on.

Nice Laser
Great product, worked well for a remodel product. I let my dad borrow it and he enjoyed it as well. You will need a stand, would be nice if you could purchase it with one right away.

Very handy but one flaw
I tend to put a lot of effort into trying to get shelves, pictures, and other household projects to be level, so I use laser levels quite a bit. This Bosch unit is nice in that it has a nice clear beam even in daylight. It is also a step up from cheaper units I've used in that it projects a cross pattern for aligning both in vertical and horizontal axes. For example, I mounted a column of shelves on the left side of a wall and wanted another column on the right side. Very easy with this level as I could adjust the vertical line to where I wanted the shelves to be on the right and then I adjusted the cross-hair from a horizontal aspect to line up with the shelves on the left. Easy. You'll likely find that using a tripod is the easiest way to mount this unit for use, though it does come with a handy clip attachment if there is something stationary nearby that it can be mounted to. The clip can be easily removed when not needed. There does seem to be one flaw however. When the device is within 4 degrees of level it uses an internal pendulum to auto-level itself, which is great. Most of the time this is the way to use it. When it is rotated more than 4 degrees, the beam stays on so that you can self-align for more diagonal oriented angles. Again, nice. However if you want to self-align with the laser but want to use it still within 4 degrees of level, there is no way to disengage the auto-leveling feature and just leave the laser on. There are times when I want to use the laser for a straight/perpendicular line but don't necessarily want it to be level with the horizon. There doesn't seem to be a way other than being at an angle greater than 4 degrees. It seems like it would have been easy to disengage the pendulum (which happens when you shut off the laser anyway) but leave the laser on for use. Not something I thought of before I purchased it. Maybe those more handy than me would find this to be obvious or maybe suggest this isn't the right tool for this kind of job but I'm just an amateur when it comes to home projects and spending quite a bit more for a level than I had to, I see this as a downside of using the item.

Need a Level Line on a Wall? Use This Level.
I bought this because I had to drill two holes in my wall, about 67" AFF and about 70" apart. Their measurements to the ceiling were 1/4" different. Was the floor unlevel or was it the ceiling? Laser level to the rescue. Here are some lessons learned and comments on other reviewers' critiques: • This thing seems accurate when placed about 10' from wall as measured with a Stabila 6' level. (I know, I could have used the Stabila for my job, but I wanted the laser.) • This is not like a flashlight, i.e., you can't hold it in your hand and shine it at any height on the wall and see a level line. You have to raise it to the height where you want the horizontal line to appear. This is where a tripod comes in handy. I used an old Amazon Basics 60" adjustable camera tripod. It worked great. The crank on the tripod lets you raise/lower the level precisely. • The laser mechanism rides on a gimbal. If you cock/tilt the laser body and the gimbal doesn't have enough "wiggle room" to keep things level, the laser blinks in warning. People who complain about this behavior are not keeping their laser upright enough. Probably aren't using a tripod. • Finally, and the reason I wrote this review, is the quality of the box — it is great! If you want to put your level away until you use it again at some later date, everything packs neatly and safely back into the box. Just toss that box in a drawer and everything will be kept safely together. It's better than most blow-molded plastic cases you get with tools, IMHO. All in all, with this laser I was able to quickly and confidently mark these two holes and hang a 6' x 4' framed tapestry perfectly. I actually delayed completing the job until I received the laser and I'm glad I did.

Reliable and accurate
Needed something quick and reliable. This was both. I used it to help me bolt hangers to the ceiling in my garage for those cable lifting storage racks. Worked perfectly for what I needed. Could clearly see the red lines. Took getting used to how to set it so it would cross all premarked spots so I knew it was lined up across the rafters in a straight line. I've always wanted something like this but never "needed" one until now. I'm sure I'll use it often.

The listing photo indicates a case included. This model doesn’t come with a case. Regardless, the device works as expected. Editing after 6 months of use. Changing to 5 stars. I've finished a bathroom tiling project, an accent wall and hung many frames. I'm always impressed with how things turn out. Bang for buck, this is a great product. This is my first self-leveling laser level. Perhaps my comments are universal across the style of level. The pendulum inside is sensitive and takes some time to settle - which is understandable. I wish there was a position lock to eliminate the laser wobble as you move around the room. I attached using the provided mount to a door to get the height I needed in my small bathroom. It was nice to have in that scenario, but I find its use limiting. Making adjustments was easy, finding a mounting point at the same height as my desired location would have involved moving furniture around in other projects. I stick it on the tripod every chances I get.
