I'm genuinely pleased with this purchase. I was a little apprehensive about placing the order, due to reviews I read about it '...suddenly collapsing, so keep you fingers out of the way...'. I'm here to tell you this is not an issue with the unit I received. I've tried to bump it, jar it, even shake it back and forth - the top stays where it's put, with the weight of my 15.6" laptop. I could understand if someone is attempting to lower the top with the weight of a laptop on it, that it could/would "drop" suddenly. But I have no problem raising or lowering the angle with this sitting on my lap with my laptop in place. I've been looking for a design like this for a couple years. I use a wired portable external hard drive for daily backups and I keep it installed pretty much all the time, so not to risk interrupting the scheduled backups. I needed a laptop desk with a compartment to hold this hard drive, so it goes where the laptop goes as I move my laptop from the table next to my chair over to my lap and back again. This desk works perfectly for this with it's thoughtful storage compartment. This unit is well constructed using what appears to be quality materials. An added bonus I wasn't expecting is that my laptop does not slide around on the wooden top like it did on my former plastic laptop desk. - The box appears to be constructed of all wood or wood products. - The storage compartment is plenty roomy at just over 1/2 of the entire interior. - The hidable mouse pad is strong and is covered with a fabric that allows the mouse to glide effortlessly. When extended to the max, it does angle downward ever-so-slightly. - The foam covered wrist pad is firmly attached however, if using this desk at any of the angled positions, it really doesn't come into play much. I use this set at it's lowest raised level and my wrists barely touch the pad. If I close the lid, the wrist pad is perfect for me, but I keep the box open to prevent my external hard drive from over heating. - The foam on the bottom feels like it is a memory foam, but I can't know for certain. It is extremely comfortable on my lap. - Hinges are all metal, secured with screws. - The cabinet quality magnet that hold the lid closed is strong and adequate. - As a little bonus, a coaster that looks to be made of the same material as the box was included. If I have one minor complaint, it's that I'd prefer if the lowest angled setting could be a little lower, but I'm getting used to the current lowest setting. It does raise my screen up to eye-level so I'm not constantly looking downward. A couple of hints for the manufacturer for a "new and improved" model: - Attach a magnetic system to hold the mouse pad drawer in when not in use. (I may look into doing something like this to this one.) - Perhaps create a small dedicated slot in the side (maybe another on the back?) to allow a cord to pass from the inside, even while the box is closed. In summary, I would buy this again, and will recommend it to anyone looking for a quality laptop desk with storage. If you are giving this item consideration for the features it offers, go ahead, give it a try. Should anything happen to change my current opinion on this item, I will update this review at that time.

I feel like they thought of everything with this laptop holder. It's soft for my lap, the mouse pad pulls in and out for quick, easy storage, where you put your wrists doesn't hurt because it's padded and has what feels like wood underneath to prevent the laptop from falling forward. It's easy to put up and down and find the levers to move it up and down. I don't feel like it's as heavy as another user suggested but it is made of wood and it's sturdy. I compared it recently to a plastic one and they seemed like the same weight so I'm okay with the weight of this. The one thing I wish it had was a fan, but I'm willing to sacrifice the fan for something that is going to last me a long time and be comfortable and ergonomical. Well done and thank you for making this product! Edit: I've since bought 2 more for my family and so I can use when I visit my family. The one I just purchased seems to fall down more. I wish there was a way to lock the height of the holder in place so you don't have to worry about your fingers. Please improve that design if you could.

Comfortable Laptop Desk! I appreciate the ability to adjust the viewing angles. Also, the weight is perfect. Some customers complained about the weight, but when you place this down on a surface, it stays in place. I wanted a larger surface, but the ability to lower and raise the viewing angles is missing, so I am happy with this size and weight. To me, this Laptop Desk is more comfortable than a regular desk because I sit back in the chair with my legs up, and I am not hunched over. I can take this anywhere, and since I travel, I always have a comfortable place to work.

I purchased “used like-new”. I can see why it was returned. The cushion material looks more green than grey. But it works for me. It’s functional for sitting in bed or couch while working. I will keep it and use it as I got a great price for it.

Comfortable cushion for the bottom and for the strip for your wrists. Very sturdy design featuring lots of wood. The built-in mouse pad is very helpful. There are 4 different angles it can be set at. I tend to use the first level (lowest), so I can see over the laptop screen. However, the fourth level (highest) has the screen at eye-level which is easier on the neck. Overall, this product does what it needs to and it does that well. It holds a 16” laptop with ease. It has thick materials where I don’t worry my laptop will slip off.

Great little lap desk! Can adjust the tabletop angle, has storage for my wireless mouse (harder to lose/misplace it now), the retractable mouse pad with felt top is perfect (for righties - not switchable unfortunately) comes with a little bonus coaster, nice touch. Has a cloth handle so you can carry it easily. The tabletop shuts with a strong magnet so you don't have to worry about it opening when carrying it around. I would love it more if the wood look was a lighter wood like bamboo but other than, can't complain!

The Vigo Wood Lap Desk is very well-made and feels solid and durable. I like that it includes storage for small items, which is a nice touch. However, it is quite heavy and bulky, which makes it less portable and a bit awkward to use compared to lighter lap desks. The cushion helps with comfort, and the adjustable angle is useful, but the overall size and weight make it less convenient for regular use. It’s a good, sturdy lap desk, but the heaviness and bulk keep it from being perfect.

Heel fijn laptopkussen. We hebben al ruim 10 jaar een andere, eigenlijk versleten, maar konden geen goed alternatief vinden. Met deze wel. Doordat hij wat dikker is, ligt hij goed op schoot als je op de bank zit.

I seen this and thought I would upgrade my current laptop tray for work. I chose this based on the amount of positive reviews there were. I regret that now! This tray is far from ergonomic, the mouse pad pull out try is so low that after only 2 days of use I'm experiencing severe pain in my wrist and forearm. I've never had this pain before and I work on my laptop everyday on my previous tray! Avoid if this is for actual work and not just browsing on your laptop on the sofa. Other than the mouse tray, the item is beautifully designed and super comfortable on your lap, which is even more disappointing
